I wake to the rustling of feet. I groan and turn over. I'm not feeling this right now..
"Oliver Wake up!"
I recognize the voice. Reese. My apprentice. I'm a Leader thief in a kingdom. The Solis Kingdom. Reese's parents abandoned her so I took her in.
Reese shakes my arm and I swat her away.
"Come on! you promised me you would take me out today...". I open my eyes slightly to show a blurry Reese pouting. I sigh and rub my eyes.
"Get your knife and mask."
"YAY!"
She runs out the room and I grab my knife from the side table. I walk over to the tiny drawer holding my clothes. I grab a black bandana and wrap it over my mouth, leaving my eyes exposed.
Reese runs back in wearing a yellow bandana.
"Let's go". We walk out of my room and up the stone stairs. We walk out of the tiny hut hidden in the forest. Reese shakes with excitement.
"Now remember get good stuff and don't fight unless they see your identity or try to stop you". She nods.
We reach the town and we crouch behind a house. I see her eyes light up. I look over and see a food stand that's been left alone. She looks at me and I nod my head. I watch her rush over and search through the stand. I stand up and look around. I see a house with its door cracked. Fools..
I rush over and quietly slip inside. It smells like cinnamon and apples inside the house. I search through the drawers and take some stuff. Wallets, jewelry, small artifacts..I shove them inside my pocket.
A piercing scream startles me and I fall over. I look up and a woman stands in the doorway. Crap
..I quickly get up and rush to get past her. She starts hitting my back and pounding me with her fist. I burst out the front door and run home through the forest. I hear her screaming still. Chill lady I didn't pull my knife on you at least..
I walk inside the tiny hut and unload my stuff on the kitchen table. I take off the bandana and examine the things. This stuff is worth something...maybe a few hundred for this..
"Reese!" I call out. "Are you home?".
I hear a panicked voice and a cooling one respond back to the other. I grab my knife out my pocket. Someone's got Reese... I move quietly through the house and to the living room. I peak around the doorway and see Reese with another girl. I jump out and grab the girl. I press the blade on her neck.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?"
Her breath hitches and Reese jumps up.
"Oliver put the knife down! She saved me when I got caught and I brought her back here!"
I hesitate but put the knife down. The girl whips around and punches me in the nose. I kneel to the ground.
"OK yeah I deserve that..."
She shakes her fist and stands beside Reese. I get up and cover my nose.
"My name is Laika" the girl sneered at me rubbing her neck. "
Sorry but you need to leave".
She looked slightly offended and stared at me. I studied her looks.
She has a slightly freckled face that fit nice with her brown skin, dark brown curly hair. She had a silver nose ring and soft grey eyes that looked like she could see everything. Her black dress ended below the knee and she had a necklace that had feathers on it with some black boots.
"Fine.. Don't want a highly trained witch on your side then that's fine with me..I will just leave" she twirled around and walked to the door slowly as if waiting for us to change our minds.
Witch? I mouthed to Reese. She nodded and mouthed Let's keep her!

I sighed
"Wait.. You said highly trained witch?"
She nodded. I looked at the ground and narrowed my eyes.
"Fine you can join us,"
