Chapter Two: Nights Full of Nightmares
Finn's POV:
~ Her hands feel ice cold; she's usually blazing hot.
I am holding her and she looks up at me with glassed over red eyes. "I... I'm not...r... ready to go."
Tears fill my eyes. "You... you're not. You can't."
She blinks slowly. "I... I am."
Her voice is barely above a whisper.
I look down at her torso so I can see the wound.
It's on the left side, a knife pierced her heart. She's covered in various scratches on her arms and legs; deeps cuts. Blood pours out of her injures, drenching her clothes and staining her pale orange skin.
I pull her close to my body. "You'll be okay. I... I, we're gonna be okay."
Her eyes close, and blood starts to trickle out of her mouth.
"No," I whisper.
She goes limp and starts to turn to ash.
The wind picks up and carries her away from me.
I grab a knife out of my backpack and bury it deep into my chest. Blood starts to pour out of the wound.
I take my last shallow breath and everything turns white.~
I sit straight up in bed, sweat covering my body.
I look around trying to console myself.
"It was just a dream. It was just a stupid dream,"
I walk over to the window. It's dark outside and stars pepper the sky.
I go downstairs and go outside.
I sit down in the cool grass. Moonlight made it to where things were visible.
I feel invisible.
I miss the nights when her and I talked the night away. She'd always hesitate before leaving.
It never fazed me until I lost her. I wonder if she wanted to tell me something, but couldn't find the right words.
I touch the scar on my cheek that I got the last time she kissed me.
If I think about it too much, I swear I can still feel it burning.
"I miss you, Flame Princess," I say into the night. Not for anyone to hear but myself.
Adam's POV:
I wake up on soft, cool grass; it's not longer raining.
I sit up and look around.
"Where am I?" I think.
I see a light in the distance, there's also the silhouette of a person.
The light grows brighter as the figure comes closer.
It's a girl, or wait,... a flame?
It's dark out so she shines brightly. She's beautiful, like no one I've seen before.
"Um, hi," I say shyly.
She stares at me with a puzzled expression, then she bends down next to me.
"Who are you?" she asks.
I can feel the heat coming off of her body. "I'm... um, Adam or Flames Pond. Whatever you choose to call me."
"Okay Flames Pond," she lets out a small laugh.
"Are you made out of fire?" I ask dumbfounded.
"Yes, I'm Flame Princess," she replies.
"Flame Princess," I repeat softly.
"How'd you get here?" she asks.
"I passed out. Uh, where am I?"
"Ooo,"
"Huh?" I ask.
"You're in Ooo,"
"I'm dreaming," I think.
"Are you hurt?" she asks.
"I'm okay,"
She stands up. "Follow me."
I stand up and follow her.
"This is all a dream,"
