Mike's pov

I sat in my room, with the note in my hands, debating on meeting the new girl in the woods. It seems weird-who am I kidding nothing has been normal this past year. It's 9:30 and I decided that I'm going, so I grab my backpack and run to the door. I grab my bike from the garage and ride over to mirkwood.

El's pov

I waited until Hopper was asleep before I snuck out. I walked to mirkwood sweating nervously, and that's when I see him. He was sitting on an old log, I started to walk closer, "hey" I say kind of startling him. "Hey" he says squinting trying to see who I am, thank god it's dark out.

Mike's pov

I was there before the new girl was, so I found a log and sat on it. While I was waiting I realized where I am, I'm in the exact spot where me and el first met. I must have been deep in thought because I didn't hear her walk up to me, until she said hi. She walks a little closer and I can tell that she's crying, I drop my bike and start to walk to her.

"Hey, whats wrong?" I say as I continue to walk towards her, "yo-you don't recognize me do you?" She asks still crying. I stop right in front of her, but I still can't get a good look at her considering its pitch black out. "No I'm sorry, have we met?" With me saying that she falls to the ground crying, sobbing even.

El's pov

I just can't hold in my tears, he doesn't remember me. He asks if we've met and I just break down crying, he comes a little closer, and then analysis my face but it's so dark I can hardly see my own hand. I calm myself down and wipe my tears.

"We have met but I left I came back just before school started though." "Oh, ok can you at least tell me your name so I don't have to keep calling to 'the new girl'." He says with a chuckle. "It's Jane."

Mike's pov

She says her name is Jane, and with that my smile fades. "Jane?" I ask her, "yes Jane." She walks up to me and says to meet here tomorrow at 9am and with that she walks away. I ride back home and go up to my room as quietly as possible, I must have been tired because just as my face hits the pillow I fall asleep.
