The Tears

Mikes pov 

I wake up to the smell of eggos, I look over at my alarm clock 8:30 'shit' I think to myself.  I quickly get dressed and run to the kitchen, my mom, dad, and holly were all sitting down eating. "Hey, why don't you sit down and eat." My mom says in the sweet to some ears, demanding to yours. "I can't, I promised the new kid I'd show her around." I tell her only half lying, "okay, but take some waffles with you." With that I run and grab 2 eggos and leave. 

I look at my watch 8:50, I run to my bike, hop on and ride as fast as I can to the forest. Jane is already there when I arrive, she has her back turned, when she hears my bike against the dirt she turns around, I only see her face for a split second before her head is down. I swear I've seen that face before but I can't recall when. 

Els pov:

I sneak out of the house thank god he doesn't wake up until noon. I walk to where me and Mike are suppose to meet, I'm really nervous, like what if he doesn't react the way I want him to? What if he freaks out and tells the cops, then I'd be in a lot of trouble with Hopper. I'm snapped out of my thoughts with bike tires hitting the gravel. 

"Hey!" He says, "Hi." I guess I was mumbling because he took a step forward. "Do you mind showing your face, It's not really fun talking to the top of your head." He laughs a little as he finishes his sentence. I don't know what came over me but I slowly lifted my head. 

Mikes pov

She slowly lifts her head, tears forming in her eyes. I get one good look at her and break down crying, it was that moment that I realized who it was. "El?" I croak out, tears streaming down my face. She nods her head in response, I run over to her, and I give her the biggest hug I've ever given someone. She was crying, I let go of her and scanned her face. I wiped her tears away, because this is a moment we should see each other and not be blinded by tears anymore.
