Everyday I hope that school will close down. A flood, power outage, or maybe I'll get sick. If this ever happened I would get out of my living nightmare. And today that happened.
I woke up around 3:00 am. I was feeling hot so I went downstairs to get a glass of water. My mom came down a minute later.
"Honey are you okay?"
"Yeah mom I'm fine. Jut a little hot."
My mom felt my forehead and took my temperature.
"Oh no," she said, "you have a fever of 105 degrees. Let's get you to the ER."
I arrived and the nurse came in.
"You have pneumonia and we have to put you under medicine. You'll be okay."
I woke up probably an hour later, but I'm not sure. The nurse came in.
"..."
I could see her lips moving but nothing came out.
"Can you speak up please. I can't hear you." Is what I tried to say but nothing came out. The nurse rushed out to grab the doctor. He had a paper on his hand. It read, "YOU'VE GONE DEAF BECAUSE OF YOUR MEDICATION. IT SHOULD WEAR OFF." And he left and brought my mom in. Good thing she learned ASL because my neighbors are deaf. She signed, "It'll be okay. The doctor said to should go away." But I knew that was a lie and she knew that it wasn't true. I had lost my hearing.
