".....my parents won't let me work. They want me to stay home and do nothing or maybe just go and be a great cheerleader. They told me that I'll be inheriting our company so I don't need to work. But..." I trail off.

"But what?" Pattie asks.

"But if I don't work, I won't know what poor people are going through. I wanna feel what it's like when people make fun of you because you're so poor. I wanna challenge myself. I always get what I want in just a flick and I don't think that's fair. You understand me don't you?" I finish...

"Yes sweetie..give me a hug.." she hugs me and whispers, "I won't tell but I won't be responsible when he finds out. When are you planning on telling him?"

I let go and say, "I'll just be working this summer until school starts again. And no I don't think I'll tell him. I think he'll just find out when he sees me on TV.."

"Okay honey it's up to you."

Just after she says those words, Justin comes in with Ryan. They're both smiling.

"So apparently we found out that we were childhood bestfriends," Justin tells Ryan who seems to be very amused.

"Oh really? That's amazing," he says in a delightful voice. He's amused, alright.

I nod and say, "Yes, thanks to this.." then I show him my necklace.

"Hold on, that looks like..." Ryan tries to say but I cut him off..

"Yep, looks like Justin's keychain. I sat up and Pattie saw this hanging from my neck. She thought it looked familiar so she looked at it and Justin's keychain. Justin put his half heart next to mine and they intertwined. Cool story, huh? Do you want me to say it again?" I say.

"Cool. And no thanks," Ryan answers, smiling.

I look at Pattie who has tears running down her cheeks. She's a lovely person. I just donn't know why she's tearing. Shouldn't she be happy? Maybe they are just tears of joy.

Just then, everything goes black for a moment. I can hear my own heartbeat and scream, but it feels like nobody hears me. When I gain my vision back, I see my parents in my hospital room. They talk with Pattie and are now leaving me. They fond out that I'm working. I don't understand why they make such big of a deal on it. I am now crying, sweating and scared. Then I see them walking out. I yell! "NO!" but it's too late. I remove everything that's plugged into my body and manage to stand, but when I'm on my way to the door, I pass out again.
