I'm in my room packing my bag when my mom comes in.
"Could you knock?" I ask.
"Honey, you look pale. What's wrong?" she asks.
"Mom, I'm okay, don't worry. I'm just too excited inside. So, a year in London, huh? That sounds nice, Mom."
"Yes. We're leaving at 3 a.m tomorrow. I know it's too early, but please wake up a little bit early. Flight's at 5 a.m."
"Mother, I wake up early when I have to. Don't worry."
And it looks like I'm celebrating my birthday in London. Oh the fun.
I'm gonna miss Justin, you know. Even though he's been a prick to me, I'll still miss him.
At 2 a.m. the following morning, I go outside to get a little chill. I'm walking when I see Justin's car. What is he doing here?
I run close to our gate, close where Justin's car is. He's on his phone. I eavesdrop to know what they're talking about.
"Where the hell does she live, Kenny?" Justin says on his phone. "You don't know? But you always pick her up in front of this manor?" Short pause. "Okay. But I don't wanna disturb her. You know what time it is. It's too early. I think I'll leave."
There's a passage way in the bushes that leads me out of our gate, and only I know about it. I go through it and see Justin. When he sees me, he smiles.
"What are you doing here?" he asks. "Do you know what time it is?"
"I believe I should be asking you the same question," I answer.
"Well, I decided to look for you. Now it's your turn to answer my question," he says.
"It's past 2 a.m. I'm just walking around for late night air. And you were looking for me? Why?"
"Because you snuck out on me again. I miss you."
He misses me!
"Aww. Why?" I ask.
"Because..." he trails off.
"Because?"
"Because I had nobody to command to do weird stuff," he answers.
I was actually expecting a sexy answer. But then, he does something unexpected.
Justin walks to me and hugs me really tight. "I really do miss you," he whispers.
"I've only been gone for a couple of hours," I say.
"But.."
"But what? You never finish your sentences the first time you say them."
"But I really do miss you," he says.
"That's so sweet. By the way, there's something I gotta tell you." I think for a moment and decide not to tell him. I think it will be better if I just disappear. "Nah, never mind."
"What is it?" he asks.
"Can't tell you."
"Can you at least tell me a bit?" he asks.
"Nope," I say in response.
"Oh, okay," he says then glances at his watch. "Look at the time. I gotta go. It's really late. See you tomorrow, Izzy!" He gets into his car and leaves.
"Yeah, Justin, I'll see you," I whisper to myself.
It's really gonna be hard. Really hard especially when you're starting to fall for that person you're leaving. That person who has a somewhat real connection with you.
I go back to my house and pack my remaining things. 3 o'clock hits and we leave.
Justin, if you only knew how hard it's gonna be for me. I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy. Even though you were such a douche to me, I can never let go. The time we've spent together has bonded us, and I don't think there's escaping. If you only knew how complicated I am right now. If you only did.
But I will be back. And when I do so, there will be a fresh start.
We get to the airport and unload the trunk. I'm gonna miss my friends with whom I haven't spoken in ages. But I have already let them know I'm leaving for London.
"Goodbye, Jaron!" I tell Jay who drove us here. I'm gonna miss him, too. I've been busy with Justin and I never get to talk to him a lot anymore. I'll make it up next year.
"Goodbye!" he says. I watch our car leave and as I do, I leave all the bad memories behind and will let my short time in a different place help me clear my mind up.
We wait until 5 and wait for our flight number to appear on the screen. We get our luggage checked in and get into the plane.
