My alarm broke the dreamy atmosphere around me, my senses awakened and my body started to move. I sighed and quickly turned my alarm off, I looked around the room; it was still pitch black. I felt my body slowly slip back into the warm, dark abyss...

"Bliss, get up. Time to go to school."

I don't reply, I shuffle more under my covers; my eyes glued shut.

"Seriously, it's ten past seven. Get up!" My mom slaps the bottom of the bed and shuts her bathroom door as she goes to get ready.

I swing my legs off the side of the bed quickly before I get the chance to procrastinate even more and grab my robe. I grab my clothes and ready myself for the day.

After brushing my teeth, getting dressed and showered I go back into my spacious room. The white carpet feels warm and soft under my feet after being on tiled floors.

"Hurry up Bliss, time for breakfast." My mom calls again from downstairs.

"Okay, I'm coming." I call back. I glance at myself before I leave, my makeup minimal and natural and my blonde hair flowing past my shoulders. I sit at the table with my oatmeal with cinnamon, one of my favourite quick breakfasts. It reminds me of my favourite time of the year, Christmas.

"Got much on today?" Mom asked, taking a sip pf her tea.

"A bit I guess. You?"

"Oh you know Monday is my busiest day. Let's get you to school, finish up your breakfast." Mom starts to potter around the kitchen before we leave, tidying as I put my bowl aside and tied up the laces to my white trainers.

We pull up outside the school and I stare out scouting like a hawk for my best friend.

"Good luck today on your exam by the way." Mom says as I open the car door.

"Thanks, bye!" I shut the door and tuck the hair behind my ears.

Once I finally get into school I spot my best friend Emily and she waves at me, summoning me over.

"Hey you, didn't hear from you much this weekend. Glad to know you're still alive."

I laughed, "Me too, I was really busy studying unlike you."

I hate to admit that I am jealous of the fact that Emily doesn't need to study for everything. She is so intelligent, she already knows everything. But when I'm stuck she does make a great tutor.

"Yeah, well I hope you haven't been stressing about it."

"I try not to."

"Good, now let's go to my favourite class." She said excitedly.

"Oh, no..."

"Science!"

********************************************

I sit in the class alone as I'm not a very popular person. I mean, I have friends in the class but most of the time I prefer to be alone. It makes it easier to concentrate. I look around the class room of familiar faces but opposite the room I find an anomaly. There's a boy in a brown, leather vest over a black shirt with torn jeans that have tears around his knees. He's also wearing brown boots and black, finger less gloves. Who is he? My curiosity grew.

"Now class, we are going to look at a practical experiment today." Our teacher, Mr Macallister spoke.

I was snapped out of my field of curiosity and sucked back into the lesson.

"Now we'll be working in pairs, I have already assigned you all so there will be no refusals or you can speak to the principal."

He read out all the groups, I was paired with a goof-ball boy called Trevor which could have been better. I inhale a deep breath and carry my science book over to the lab table. I sit down and start collecting the apparatus for the experiment. Someone sits next to me, I glance over and see it's the boy from before.
