Interview

I checked the collar of my black jacket for the hundred time, smoothing down my purple silk blouse and checking my black dress pants for hair. My heels ached in these red pumps but Felix assured me I looked professional. But Felix also said that I should wear my brown hair down, to show off how young and unthreatening I looked.

Darcy Enright was in the next room, a famous news caster. I was here for a interview, to calm the public.

It’s been two weeks since Drake went onto live TV and revealed the existence of supernatural and most importantly me. I haven’t even seen my human family or friends since that day. But i have been tied up with the supernatural community going into hell.

I’ve had been in hiding while the public went crazy. So far ten vampire covens and two packs of werewolves have been slane. Other species also have been killed violently but vampires and werewolves are taking the hardest blow. And me.

Most people want me destroyed, thinking I was a abomination that shouldn’t be here. I don’t totally disagree but I rather like to live.

Felix and Leven stood on either side of me, looking professional in black suits and sunglasses that covered their unnatural eyes as my bodyguards. Protecting me from the humans or protecting the humans from me, I didn’t know

“Please welcome Jasik!“ that’s my cue. I walked into the stage, feeling Felix touch the small of my back incouragely. I smiled at the crowd, waving. I noticed people holding up anti Jasik or supernatural posters. I kept a smile on my face and I sat in the white chair beside Darcy.

Darcy smiled at me with her bright white smile, her makeup done perfectly. She flipped her blond hair over her shoulder dramatically.

“So Jasik, are you really a goddess as they say?“ she asked, getting straight to the point.

I laughed; glad I was a good actor “not at all, I’m a hybrid. My mother was a werewolf and my father was a vampire “  lied threw my teeth.

“Oh, so you‘ve never had thousands of past lives?“ she pushed.

“I have, but most of you have also. My abilities just make it easier to access my past lives memories“ lies.

“Mhmm“ Darcy put a finger on her chin, a dramatic way of showing that she was deep in thought. “So why did you hide for two weeks?“ she asked. Maybe this was a bad idea. I wasn’t a people person at all and I was already thinking about hitting perfect little Darcy over the side of the head. But that would be wrong! And it would be really bad for the press.

“My people thought it would be best. The public needed to get used to the idea that they weren’t the only species“

“Supernaturals should burn in hell!“ someone screamed in the audience. I looked right at them, unable to hold the sight of my anger.

"Supernaturals are just something other then human. Indeed there are bad supernaturals but there are also good ones to, just like humans. We just have unique abilities and for some reason people feel the need to kill us. Thousands of my kind has died in these last few weeks, my friends. Humans have even been killed because they disagreed with the majority. You call that humanity! Its just evil!" My voice shook with the power of my speech and I watched the crowd where most people where putting down their posters and bursting out crying.

I looked at Darcy, who also seemed surprised at my outburst "I’m sorry. As you’ve noticed it’s been a hard few weeks" I sighed, running my hand threw my hair then put my hands together to stop the shaking.

Darcy gave her best empathetic look "I understand. It’s been hell on earth for all of us" she wiped an imaginary tear from her perfect face.

Then suddenly she was smiling and looking bright for the camera.

I noticed that camera was zooming in on my purple eyes and I could see how worn out I looked, how old on the tv behind the audience.

"Now! We have a surprise guest here today. Drake Felon!" Darcy said excitedly and I looked over my shoulder to see the face of my betrayer, coming over and sitting down in his seat.

Drake looked at me and his eyes seemed to glow. He must have noticed how alike I look from my first life, a rare thing that happens every thousand years.

I looked over at Darcy and I felt anger inside me. I had no patience for- what do they call them today? Oh yes. Bitches. She double crossed me.

"Jasik, it’s been a long time" I looked over at him.

“Not long enough” I growled at him and both him and Darcy rose their eyebrows at me. I saw Felix hide a smile under his hand.

“Why do you say that Jasik?” Darcy asked and I looked back at her.

“He’s the one who killed me in my first life” I pointed out, trying to turn the public against Drake. Drake glared at me, his lips pressed together and I smiled innocently at him “but he didn’t tell you that did he?”

Darcy shook her head.

“You killed yourself” Drake countered.

“Indeed, because I refused to be a monster who preyed on the innocent” I snapped heatedly.

“And what exactly are you now?” Drake snapped, clearly losing his patience. Its like no time has past and we’re still arguing about everything. It was like the world was gone and it was just us.

“I have overcome the lust of blood, I help people now” I lifted my chin proudly. “And was have you done for 2000 years before the creation of snythic blood Drake” I asked.

Drakes face became dark with anger. “I did what I had to do. Most of the people I fed on were murders and even then most of the time I didn’t kill them”

“What about that girl in the forest? Was she a murderer” I was thinking about the girl he made me slaughter for her blood.

“You were dying. I would have done anything for you, don’t you know that?” Drake said, his voice getting softer.

“I didn’t want to be a vampire Drake! I made that clear from the start! And now your responsible for thousands of supernatural and human deaths! Does this make you feel better?” I snapped.

He ignored me “You lived billions of lives and you didn’t even bother to check in on me? To see how I changed. For you” he seemed to still have some romantic feelings towards me.

“I did and each time I did I learned you didn’t change on bit. Your still a little boy who only thinks for himself” I said harshly and he sucked in a breath, his eyes flashing red.

“Go to hell Jasik” He stood

“I’ve been there. Didn’t like it much” I wasn’t lying. I go down to see Hades every now and then to bargain for a soul that I wanted. I knew I sounded like a brat but this was getting annoying and I had the strangest sense of Déjà vu. It was unnerving.

“I sense some tension between you two” Darcy said as a matter of factly and we both stared at her with ‘really? It’s that obvious’ expressions.
