Title Creds: "Stay With Me" by You Me At Six

--

Alex's P.O.V.

I know that this entire school year only started 2 months ago, but my 2nd hour is probably my favorite class, despite the constant bickering between Jack and Kellin since Jack started back here again on Tuesday.

--

And so today is Friday. There's 5 minutes until the bell rings, and then I get to hang out with Jack. I'm hanging out with Jack. That gave me butterflies and I smiled widely. Since he got here, he's been complimenting and flirting with me. He makes me feel good about myself. I don't think anybody has done that before.

Once the bell rang, I grabbed ahold of my keys, bag, phone, and hurried out, locking the door once I saw that everyone was out. I hurried to my car, put the key in ignition, and drove to Tierra Buena Park, which wasn't far from the school. I waited for about 10 minutes and Rian drove up with Jack in the car. Jack got out, he thanked Rian for the ride and shut the door. Rian drove off, leaving Jack and I to ourselves.

"So." he said.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed him by the wrist, dragging him across the street to the place I share with Zack and Athena for the time being.

"Mr. Gaskarth, w-where are you taking me?" he stammered. Okay that was beyond adorable.

"My house," I replied. "Mr. Merrick and Ms. Lidster know you'll be here; however, Zack took a sick day off work, so he's already there. Athena's got loads of papers and tests to grade."

I'm hoping that Cody already came by and brought my things, I don't need him asking why the bloody hell his little brother's best friend is doing at my house. I have a feeling that wouldn't end well.

We walked inside of the house. I didn't see any boxes, god dammit. But I did see Zack sleeping on the couch. I chuckled lightly and smirked.

"Stay right here," I whispered to Jack whilst slowly and quietly closing the front door. "I'm gonna wake the sleeping Channing Tatum over there." I pointed to Zack, who was passed the fuck out.

Jack chuckled softly and nodded, "Okay," he whispered back.

I walked up to Zack and knelt down beside him. "Hey, Zacky," I whispered, my voice gradually getting louder. "KETCHUP!"

His eyes popped open as he jumped and screamed.

"Alex, you asshole! You are going to pay for that!" he shouted. Jack and I lost our shit, we were on the floor, laughing until our sides hurt. When we finally had calmed ourselves, Jack walked over to one of the recliners and sat down, wiping the tears from laughing so hard. I did the same, but sat next to Zack on the couch.

"Jack, long time, no see," Zack said. "How've you been since Sophomore year?"

"Very unhappy and lonely." Jack replied.

"Sorry to hear that, man," Zack said. "Glad you're back, though."

"Thanks," Jack said. "I'm glad I'm back, too, Mr. Merrick."

"Just called me Zack outside of school."

"Oh, alri--"

Then the doorbell rang. I looked at Zack, but he just shrugged. I got up to get the door. When I opened it, Cody was behind it. This is what I wasn't wanting to happen.

"Please take me back." he pleaded.

Jack walked over to me and looked at Cody. "Cody?" he asked.

"Jack, what are you doing here? Why aren't you with Rian?" he hammered Jack with questions.

"Alex asked me to come over after school for extra help with guitar," Jack said. "Why are you here, is more important."

"This isn't your business, Jack," I said. "Go sit down. Zee, do you mind if Cody comes in?"

"That's fine with me as long as he doesn't piss me off." Zack replied.

I gestured for Cody to come inside, he set a box of my belongings on the table and sat down on the other recliner next to Jack. I went back to my spot next to Zack, and he put his arm around me. Best friends. It's what we do.

"Why should I take you back?"

"Because I wasn't cheating." he defended. Lies!

"I saw the liquor store's camera footage, Cody," I said. "Vic and Mike are two of my best friends, they would have never said that if it weren't true. Especially Vic. You know that, Cody."

"Sorry for butting in, but Alex has a point," Jack agreed. "You know Vic and Mike aren't that shallow, Cody."

"Shut up, Jack," Cody snapped. "I am not afraid to kick your ass."

"And Rian's not afraid to kick yours for kicking mine," Jack replied with a smile. "Don't start with me Cody, you know Rian's got my back, and he's 10 times stronger than you are."

Cody's face with red, boiling with anger, as he turned his head to face Jack. "I said shut up, Jack! Are you that illiterate that you don't know how to listen to an authority figure?" he shouted, patronizing Jack.

"Oh, please, Cody, what kind of "authority figure" are you? Police officer? Teacher? Judge? Lawyer? None, because you're a beef jerkey salesman. You're 5 years older than I am, dude. You're barely an adult, and you're barely an authoritative figure. The only authoritative figures I see in this room are Alex and Zack, both teachers. And even I don't listen to them! I don't even listen to my own parents, Cody! What make you think that I will listen to you? A filthy scumbag who cheated on two great guys, Vic and Alex." Jack snapped back. As much as I'd like to see this, I can't have Rian and Jack's parents hate me for letting Cody beat the shit out of him, so I had to stop.

"That's enough out of the both of you," I called out. "Cody, he's not 'illiterate' for not listening. If he were illiterate, he wouldn't know how to read or write."

"Whatever," he scoffed. "Will you please get back with me, baby? I miss you, and I promise I won't do it again!"

"No, Cody!" I shouted. "That's exactly what you said to me when I questioned you the first time because of Vic, and you broke that promise! I thought you loved me, and you betrayed my trust. I'm sorry, Cody, I-I just can't get back with you." I started to cry, and like every time I'm like this, Zack holds me close and rubs my back, whispering and shushing me to help me calm down. But this time, it was different. Jack wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. I gotta admit, I didn't want him to let go.

"Alex, I-I'm sorry! I do love you, please!" he started to tear up, too.

"Move, Jack!" he shouted, pulling Jack away from me.

"Don't touch him like that, Cody." I said in my gritted teeth. Cody grabbed hold of my wrists and knelt down in front of me.

"Ally, baby," he said calmly. "I love you so much. Please take me back. What do I have to do to make it up to you?"

"I don't feel the same anymore, Codes," I said. "I can't take you back. Just...leave, Cody. Bring the rest of my things later."

"But Al--"

"Cody, I suggest you leave before you end in the hospital." Zack warned. Cody let go of my wrists and quickly ran out. Well, that was a disaster.

"I'm sorry you had to see that, Jack." I apologized, my head still looking down at the ground.

"Don't be," he said. "He's cheated on other people before both you can Vic before. He does it to make you feel like you're unwanted. He's a dick, I don't even know how Rian and him are related."

"Do you want to get started on your lesson?"

"Sure," he smiled. Zack let us borrow both his acoustics, since mine are still at Cody's. We immediately got into the lesson, and the more I got to know him, the more I was falling for him. I can't believe that I'm saying this, but, I think I'm in love with Jack. Though, he probably only sees me as a friend with benefit. Rian told me that Jack doesn't do relationships. I can totally see why. But, I still want one. And I want one with him.
