As I walk into drama, everyone stares at me. I get a wave of anxiety, but then everyone smiles.
The whispering starts as soon as I smile nervously and walk over to the corner to put my bag away.
The office chairs start rolling around and the whispering turns into talking.
"OMG her outfit is so cool! Where did she get the bomber jacket?"
"Boi, is that Aspen? Glow up!"
"I heard she's really cool now"
"Yeah we should hang out with her, she's pretty nice"
Nice? The one thing I'm not, is nice."Did she really get a boyfriend, or did she just decide to change herself and her appearance?"
"I heard she was besties with Dan Howell when they were little"Dan. Fucking. Howell. The one name I never thought I would hear again, and the one name I didn't want to know, or have memories attached to. He literally couldn't be bothered to say goodbye, or even tell me he was moving away.
I'm over it.Well, no, I'm not, but I want to be.
I walk over to James. My best friend. My loyal best friend. He never leaves my house without saying goodbye, he knows what happened and absolutely hates Dan even though he has never met him.
Oh, and he's my boyfriend of a month.
"Hey B." He smiles widely as he gets up and slings an arm round my shoulder to pull me in.
He calls me B because I hate being called "babe". Ew.
"Hey, Jamie. What are you guys doing?" I say, hugging him tightly.
"Waiting for the cover to arrive." He rolls his eyes.
"A cover teacher for drama?" He nods. "Yes! Drama lessons with cover teachers are the best!" We never do any work, we just play "team bonding games" .
"Hey did you hear about Tommy's-" he starts, but I cut him off.
"Shrine? Apparently so. I don't believe he has one. He's creepy, but not that creepy" I laugh.
"Shrine? Gross. I was gonna say 'new friend' but okay" he chuckles.
"Oh, no? Poor person, they must have made a mistake. I already feel sorry for them"
"I don't" he mutters as the cover teacher comes in and sets her folders out.
"Ok, team! We have a fun lesson ahead of us. We don't have any games, so the head teacher said you can just research drama techniques. Between you and me, though, I say: it's the first day of school. Just go on your phones. I want to be nice" she laughs as the whole class cheers.
"Hey, just be quiet though, don't want any attention drawn to this class!"
We all whisper-yell "yay!" And she chuckles even more.About halfway through the lesson, the door swings open and a boy saunters in.
Everybody looks up. His eyes search around the classroom. They widen when they land on me, but he quickly looks away.He walks up to the pile of bags sheepishly and puts his down. He walks over to the teacher and smiles at her nervously.
"You're half an hour late, Mr. Howell. Any reason for that?"
"I'm sorry miss..."
"Green."
"Miss Green. I got lost on the way here."What the hell?! I have literally told him so many times in my head to piss off, I thought he would almost get that vibe from me. Seriously? He moves back and just has to go to my school?
"Uhh... is that-?" James asks, putting a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
"Yes. Daniel James Howell comes crawling back."Dan walks over to Tommy. Oh god. He's Tommie's new friend? That's why James didn't feel sorry for him. That's why he was acting weird about it earlier. He knew Dan was here.

(Time skip to lunch because I'm too lazy to write all the beef (going on in her head)James, Beth, Tori and I were sat at lunch as Dan starts to approach us with his lunch, wearing a sad expression.
James, (quite clearly jealous), grabs me and kisses me. I'm guessing it's to get Dan to go away, because he stares directly at him when he's finished.
"Dude, I may dislike him, but way too aggressive" I chuckle
"Act less surprised, you douche" he looks over at me. I love him a lot, but something isn't right. It's like I don't love him in the way I think I'm meant to."Him? Who's this? Tori questions.
"Dan. Dan Howell, who is currently staring at us from the middle of the courtyard." James says, protectively.
Tori and Bethany whip around and look at him at the same time. They both turn around blushing.
"I didn't expect him to be cute" Beth starts
"Screw cute. He's super hot" Tori chimes in
"Yeah. Seriously, you described him like a troll so I kinda made him look like a troll in my head" Beth laughs slightly.
"Jesus Christ, guys, you're so stereotypical. I look up for Dan on more time as I go to put my headphones in, but he's gone.Hopefully it's for good, this time
