Kehlani Is My Mother

CHAPTER 2

"Breathe Jaycee. Just breathe for me babygirl." Says my mama frantically. I start to see black dots in my vision again." Jaycee stay awake for me. Please." She says. I try my best to catch my breath but it's not working." This is all my fault. I should have never started it." I hear Natalie mutter in the back pacing." Hey.......... It's not............ your fault." I say between wheezes." No. I don't want you to waste your breath talking." My mama says. I nod and close my eyes. I find myself that its getting easier to breathe. I open my eyes to see my mom has the oxygen mask over my nose." Better?" My mom asks. I nod and take deep breaths.

1 HOUR LATER

Its morning and I'm just laying in my bed on my phone. I hear my door open but I don't see anything. I ignore it and go back on my phone. Next thing you know I see this Freddy mask and it scares me." Ahhhhhhh!" I scream. I can hear my dear sister dying of laughter." I suggest you run for your life." I say in a low tone. She yelps and start to run. I get up and run after her with all my speed which is pretty fast. As I am catching up to her I find it getting harder to breathe. I slow down and stop. I go to the wall and slide down it." Jaycee?" I hear Natalie shout. She walks around the corner and I see the worry and concern in her eyes. She runs to me and bends down to get to my level." Are you okay?" She asks. I shake my head." MOMMY, MAMA COME QUICK.!" She shouts. I hear footsteps coming quickly." What happened?" Mommy asks as mama sits next to me and put her hand to my chest." She' s wheezing really bad." Mama says looking up to the others. She looks at me." Deep breaths." She says." I............ can't." I say through wheezes." Yes you can. Breathe for me." I feel my eyes start to close down." Nuh uh. Keep those eyes open." Mama says. I start to a ringing in my ears. I see mama telling mommy and Natalie something but I couldn't hear." Breathe Jaycee. Breathe for me babygirl." My mama says frantically.

PRESENT TIME

I try to get up my mama holds me down." Wait a minute." She says. She moves the oxygen tank to a side and helps me get up." You still haven't told us what happened." She says." Well. I put on a Freddy Couger mask to scare Jaycee. So I crept in her room and junped her. So she told to run and I ran but when I realised she wasn't behind me anymore I went to check on her to see if she was alrightto find out that she was here on the floor having an asthma attack. A very bad one." Natalie says but the last sentence in a whisper." I'm fine now. Plus it was my fault running after you knowing I have bad asthma." I say trying to convince her that it wasn't her fault." Ok. Jaycee go and get your dance bag. Before you say anything you are not going dance today," mama starts." What? Why?" I ask interrupting her." Did you not just have an asthma attack?" She asks." Yes but you know I can' t miss a day of this week and next week at least." I say." And why is that?" She asks." I  have a recital next two weeks mama." I say." Why didn't you tell me?" She ask narrowing her eyes at me." I told mommy to tell you." I say." Anyways of that topic. Get your dance bag get ready. When you're finish come back downstairs and we will be leaving." She says leaving no room for arguement." Where are we going?" I ask." You'll see when we get there." She says. I go up stairs and go in the bath to take a shower. When I' m finish I get a long black tights with a maroon hoodie and my adidas slides. I get my dance bag and make my way downstairs. I meet mama in the car and she drives off." So, where are we going?" I ask." I told you already you'll see." She says smiling. I turn  to the window and look at the trees passing by. Suddenly, we get to a stop." We're here." I turn to look at the studio infront of me. IMMASPACE. I get out of the car and look at mama confusingly." Why are we here?" I ask." Its your new studio." She says looking at me waiting for my reaction." Why?" I ask still confused." Well where we are moving is too far for the other studio you are going to at the moment." I nod my head to show understanding." So, let's go inside and check it out." She says. I turn and look at the doors.

I go and push through the doors. I see the receptionist looking at me with a smile." Hey. Good afternoon. Howay I help you?" She asks. My mama walks up to the desk and looks at the woman and smiles." This must be your daught Shaina." The receptionist says." Yeah it is. She just got the news she's joining the studio." Mama says looking at me. She waves me over. I walk towards the desk and shake shyly." What's your name?" She asks." Jaycee Parrish." I say with a small smile." What styles do you do?" She asks writing down the information." Hip hop, Jazz, Ballet, Comtempary, Acro, basically all." I say smiling." Really, that's great." She says looking amazed." Okay go down the hall and go to the second room on the right thats the changing room. Change into your acro clothes." She says." Okay thank you." I say. I follow her directions and enter the room. I see four girls and six boys. The door shuts behind me and they all look up at me." Hi." I say shyly." Hey. I'm Kaycee." Kaycee says smiling." This is Charlize, Sean, Tahani, Josh, Tati, Gabe, Will, Lexee, Jay and Bailey." She says pointing to their respective selves." Hey." They all say in sync." Tell me something about you." Kaycee says." Well, I do all styles. Ummmmm, I have very bad asthma. My mommy is Kehlani and I can't live without dance." I say with a shrug." You shrug like if having Kehlani as your mother is nothing." Bailey says freaking out." You have asthma?" Gabe asks. I nod my head." Then how do you dance?" He asks." Well it is weird because whenever I'm doing anything that brings up my heart rate except for dance I get an asthma attack." I say." That's cool and weird at the same time." He says. I go and change into my clothes. I go back out to see all the girls in the same clothes as me but the boys has on hip hop clothes." You doing acro with us?" Tahani asks." Yeah." I say. We all walk out and into the studio. I see more children in the studio as I walk in." How is it she just came here and hang out with the cool kids and get accepted?" I hear someone asks." You guys are the cool kids here?" I ask." People say we are and that we need to set an example but I just think we are just normal teenagers who love to dance." Kaycee says. At the end of class I realize I am the most flexible one there." How did you get so flexible?" Tati asks. I just shrug my shoulders. I hear a horn and look up to see my mommy in the car. I shake at my new friends and walk away." Hi mommy. I want you to meet someone." I say. She nods. I call Bailey over so she could come meet my mommy. She runs over with excitement clearly on her face. I hear mommy laugh at her actions." Hi. And what is your name?" She asks." Hi. Oh my god. My name is Bailey." She says fanning herself." Okay. Bailey can you do me a favor?" She asks. Bailey nods." Can you pass me your hat please." She asks. Bailey takes off her hat and hands it to my mom. Mommy looks back into the and take out a marker and signs the hat." Here you go." She says." Oh my god thank you so much!" She says. She runs off and shows the others. I laugh as my mommy drives off. Later on we arrive home and I go straight up to my bathroom and take a shower. When I am finish I go and put on my pajamas and go in my bed and fall asleep.
