CHAPTER 4

JAYCEE'S POV

Today is the day I go back to school after two days of being sick. Right now I am getting ready." Jaycee? Can you come here a minute please?" I hear mama ask." Okay." I say putting on my shoes and walking to her and mommy's bedroom." Yes please." I say entering the room." Are you sure you're okay to go to school? I mean it could still be in your system." She says. I nod." I'm 100% sure. I'm ready." I say. She nods still looking unsure on if to let me go to school or not." Well I'm leaving before you change your mind." I say. She chuckles." Don't forget Natalie is going to pick you up so you can go dancing." She says smirking." Really? Oh my god. Thank you thank you thank you." I rant going to hug her. She laughs hugging me back." Now go before I really do change my mind." She says pushing me away. I go back into my bedroom and get my dance bag and put my bottle water and my towel in it because today we have hip hop and I don't need a change of close. I go downstairs to see mama at the door standing up with the car keys in her hands." Took you long enough." She says." I thought Nat was carrying me." I say confused." She was but I told her I was going to." She says. I shrug and walk outside after my mother. We get to school in five minutes which is the fastest I've ever gotten to school." Why did you drive so fast?" I ask." Did you see the time? We are late." She says. I look at my watch and realise that it is 7:59 which means the bell for  first period will ring in a minute. I wave at her and walk briskly to the doors. I push open the doors to see my best friend waiting for me at my locker." Hey boo." I say smirking at her." Oh my gosh. Hey." She says hugging me." Did you miss me?" I ask her." Yeah. Queen bee wants to declare war on you." She says." Why I didn't do anything first of all. And secondly I barely know her." I say." You are stealing all the popularity that's basically "hers" and you have talent." She says putting quotation marks on hers." Whatever. I just came back to school and someone wants to fight me. Wow. My life is amazing." I say dramatically. Taylor laughs and walks to class. I follow her since we have the same class. I stop and turn around to see one of the popular guys staring at me." Hi Jaycee." He says walking up to me." Hi. I don't even know your name." I say with an eyebrow raised." The name is Zachary." He says smirking. I look down blushing because he was and still is my crush." I have to get to class." I say quickly walking away. I get into class and everyone looks at me and look off after the glare I gave them." Why are you late miss Parrish?" Mr. Jones asks." I had to use the bathroom." I say." Okay. But next time don't be late." He says. I nod and go to my seat next to Taylor. One hour and thirty minutes the first four periods finish and it is lunch. I get fried chicken and chips and a sprite. I go to our table to see Taylor looking at me smiling. I know that she has smoething up her sleeve that I'm not going to like." No." I say as I sit down." You don't even know what it is." She says frowning. I shrug." Come to a party with me please." She says. I laugh." No. Plus you know my moms won't let me go." I say." Please. At least ask." She says. I give ger a look telling her not to push it anymore. She sighs in defeat and slouches. I look up to see Zachary smiling at me showing off his dimples. I turn back to Taylor." I'll ask." I say getting her attention." Really?" She asks sitting up." Yup." I say getting up to throw away my container. The bell rings for lunch to be over. We go back to class.

School is over now and I'm outside waiting for Nat to pick me up." Hey." I hear. I look up to see Zachary looking at me smiling." Hi." I say." Do you wanna go out sometime? Like a date?" He asks looking nervous. The popular boy looking nervous." Sure but I would have to ask my moms." I say." That's okay. Here's my number." He says." Here's mi-" I was interrupted by my sister's car horn." I'll message you so you'll know it. Bye." I wave getting into the car." Who is that?" Natalie asks." No one." I say. We get to the studio and I get out but so does Natalie." Why are you getting out?" I ask." I have dance class today also." She says. I shrug and open the door and wait for Natalie to walk in." Hey Katrina." I say to the receptionist." Hey. How you feeling?" She asks." I'm feeling great." I say walking to the changing room. As I walk into the door Kaycee jumps onto me." Are you okay?" She asks. I nod laughing. I put down my bag and go into the studio with Kaycee. Will and Janelle looks at the door when they hear it open. Janelle runs up to me and pulls me into a hug." Hey. How you doing?" She asks." I'm good." I say smiling." You look good." She says giving the same gesture. Will walks up to me and ruffles my hair. I hit away his hand and hug him." You ready?" He asks. I nod and start stretching. He starts to walk away." Alright everybody. Let's go." He shouts. Janelle looks at me one more time while smirking and walks away also." Okay. Everybody let's welcome back Jaycee." He says. Everyone starts to clap and I hear some shouts." Now this dance is dedicated to her but we also have a special surprise for her." Janelle continues." This song is by Chris Brown. One of her favourite singers and dancers." Will says. He clicks the button on the laptop and plays my favourite song 'I love her.' Will goes to the front and tells everyone to spread out. Thirty minutes later, we finishes the choreography and I see Will and Janelle go out the studio." Where are they going?" I ask Kaycee who is standing next to me." It's a surprise." Is all she says. Will comes back in and Janelle comes back in with someone who has one a hoodie and shades. The person walks up to me and take off the shades and the hood. I look up to see it's freaking Chris Brown. My hand flies to my mouth as tears start to pool in my eyes." Aww don't cry." He says pulling me into a hug. I think he heard me smelling him because he starts to laugh. I go and hug both Janelle and Will." Thank you guys so much." I say." No problem hunny." Janelle says." Okay. Janelle and I are going to dance then you are. Okay?" Will says. I nod. They press play and they walk onto the floor. They both start to dance abd I cheer them on. Once they were finish they came over to me and push me onto the floor. Will presses play and I dance. Afterwards, I did a little improve and walked off." Wow." Chris Brown says walking up to me clapping." That was amazing." He says." Thank you." I say before drinking water from my bottle. He hugs me and tell everyone goodnight and leave." We're carrying you home tonight. So get your stuff we are leaving now." Janelle says. I nod and go into the chaniging room for my bag and walk back outside to their car." Did your mom tell you about the surprise I waa telling you about? Will asks. I shake my head." Well there is a competition next two weeks and we want you to compete under our name." He says." I would love to." I say." Well we are here." Janelle says." Okay bye. See you guys tomorrow." I say getting out of the car and waving. I walk to the front door and unlock it with my key. I go inside to smell the food." Hey." I say smiling widely." Hi." Mama says heditantly." Why are you smiling so wide?" She asks." I met Chris Brown today. And he watched me dance." I say." Really. Thats great." She says." Mama. I have a question?" I say." Sure go ahead." She says." Do you think I can go to a party with Taylor?" I ask." Nope. End of story." She says. I walk upstairs into my bedroom. I take a bath and put on my night clothes. I look through my phone to see that Zach messaged me.

Zachary- Hi. Did you ask you' re moms yet?

Jaycee- No. I actually just got home.

Zachary- How comes?

Jaycee- I had dancing.

Zachary- Oh. Well you are probably tired. So I'll talk to you tomorrow?

Jaycee- Yeah. Bye.

Zachary- Bye

I closs off my phone and go to sleep.
