Kehlani Is My Mother

CHAPTER 3 (PART 2)

This chapter is going to be Shaina's and Jaycee's pov.

SHAINA'S POV

I walk back down the stairs and into the kitchen to get some water. I walk out and go into the living room with the others." She's sleeping?" Janelle asks. I nod and sit down." What's that surprise you've been talking about?" I ask Will." There have this dance competition that we, immabeast, are going to. We want Jaycee to perform under our name." Will finishes smiling." Wow. I know she will be excited but it depends on when it is." I say." Its three weeks from now saturday. So hopefully she'll be better by saturday because today is wednesday and we'll start rehearsing on saturday." Janelle says." Okay. I'll ask her what she thinks about it when she wakes up." I say." I'm going to check on her." I continue. I feel I have to check her every ten minutes. I go up the stairs and into her bedroom. I sit next to her and check her temperature with the thermometer. Its gotten higher. She starts to shift in her sleep. She opens her eyes and looks at me." Mama. My head hurts. A lot." She says in a whimper." Sit up." I say. She sits up and I take off the mask." On a scale of one to ten how bad does it hurt?" I ask." Ten. Ughh." She grunts." I'm coming back. I'm getting some panadols and some water. Stay here." I say. She nods and lie back down and close her eyes. I go downstairs and go into the cabinet for panadols. I hear footsteps behind me." What's wrong?" I hear Janelle asks." She got a headache and her fever went up." I say." Oh dear. I'm so sorry." She says. I nod and turn around. I go in the kitchen for a cup of water. When I am finished I go up the stairs and into Jaycee's bedroom. I look and see the she's gone back to sleep. I walk over to her side and shake her gently." Jaycee. Baby wake up." I say." Hmmmmmmmm." She groans." Come sit up and take the tablets. You can go back to sleep when you are finished." I say. She sits up and take up the panadols and put them in her mouth. She takes the water from me and chugs it down with the panadols." I feel like if I need to throw up." She says. I hold her underneath her arms and carry her to the bathroom. She kneels down and hold over the toilet. I go down next to her and rub her back. She starts bringing up everything she ate before." Let it out." I say still rubbing her back. She starts dry heaving." Come on let's go back to bed." I say. She nods and get up but starts to stumble. I hold her up and carry her to the bed." Go to sleep. I'm going to be right here." I say. She lies down and closes her eyes. I lay down next to her with my head against the headboard. I see her breaths start to steady which means she's falling asleep. I take a deep breath and sigh. Kehlani comes in and sits next to me." How are you feeling?" She asks." I feel so stressed. She got three asthma attacks in one hour earlier. Now she has a horrible headache. And she threw up. I just feel so stressed." I say." Hey, it's going to be okay. She' ll get better and you won't have to worry anymore." I nod." Janelle and Will left. They said they hope Jaycee gets better." She says. I nod not wanting to speak anymore. I check Jaycee's temperature and it is at 100.2 which means she's cooling down. I sigh in relief know that she will be okay by the end of the day." I'm going to make dinner." Kehlani says getting up. I nod pecking her on the lips. She walks out of the room and goes downstairs. I put the mask on Jaycee's face knowing soon enough she'll wake up from the discomfort. I go and put the medicine in the machine. Twenty minutes later, Kehlani comes in the bedroom." Food is finish. You're going to wake her up?" She asks. I nod. She goes back downstairs." Jaycee. Wake up." I say shaking her. She turns and open her eyes. She raises her hand and take off the mask." Why?" She asks." Dinner's ready." I say sitting her up." Who cooked." She says jokingly." Your mother. Nice to know you still have your humor although you are sick." I say smiling." I feel a little bit better. When will I be able to dance?" She asks. I shake my head." Whenever you are feeling a hundred percent better." I say." Okay." I nod and get up." Come on let us go." I say walking to the door. She gets up and follow me. We go downstairs and go to the dining room. We see the table set and plates full of food." You sure mommy did this?" She asks. I laugh." What is that suppose to mean?" Kehlani asks coming from the kitchen with orange juice. We all laugh." Hey. Where is Natalie?" Jaycee asks." She went to a friend's house before you woke up." I say." Does she know I'm sick?" She asks. I shake my head." Ok. Good." She says." I'm not even going to ask." Kehlani says. We all continue to keep small talk until I remeber something." Hey Jaycee. Will said that you have to be at that surprise for two in the afternoon on saturday." I say." Why?" She asks. I just shrug.

JAYCEE'S POV

I clear my throat. Mama and mommy looks at me skeptically." I'm fine. Just some cold in my throat." I say." You sure? Like 100% sure?" She asks. I nod and go back to eating. When I'm finish, I carry the plate into the kitchen and wash it. I go into the living room and start to play some music. I get down on the ground and start to stretch. I get up and start to feel the music and start to dance. I look and see my moms looking at me smiling. I stop and smile at them sheepishly. I walk over and hug them." I thought you were going to get worse today. I'm happy you got better. I love you." Mama says crying. You know wit's serious when mama cries because she rarely cries." I love you too mama." I say.
