Chapter Two

A Whole Lot of Confusion

Never in my 11 years of schooling have I ever been in the Principal’s office.

And let me just say…. It is awesome! My scan the brightly decorated room, filled with beanbags, cool swivel chairs and a giant fluffy rug in the middle of the room. Now I understand why people got in trouble so often. If I had known how cool this room was, I would have been a pretty bad student.

“What do you have to say for yourself?” Principal Milton’s voice snaps me out of my daydream.

“Uh…” is my genius comeback. Michele actually snorts and I send her my best version of a death glare, even though it probably looks like I am constipated; whatever I’m still mad. She is the reason I am in this mess in the first place. “I’m innocent,” I declare proudly, my confidence rising with my anger.

Michelle rolls her eyes. After a few minutes of silence, I hear a familiar sound; almost like a sob, coming from Michelle. I snap my head to the side, my eyes widening at the sight in front of me.

Un-bloody believable.

Michelle has burst into a flood of tears, her sobs coming out like the sounds of a dying cat. Now it is my turn to roll my eyes. She is clearly faking; putting on her famous waterworks show. But I have no idea why? What on earth have I done?

After Principal Milton hands her a box of tissues with a sympathetic smile, Michelle composes herself. She turns to face me; pointing her long, dainty finger, with nails as sharp as cat’s claws, towards me.

“She threatened my life!”

My eyes expand to the size of saucers in three seconds flat. Sure Michelle is a little crazy sometimes, but I never figured she would stoop this low. I stare at her in utter confusion; hoping that the Principal doesn’t believe any of this none-sense.

I spoke too soon.

***

I roll my eyes miserably and huff, blowing a piece of hair that has fallen in front of my face.

“Irritated?” A voice taunts.
