My Soul

When I opened my eyes again, I was in a different place. I wasn't in the lake anymore holding the gem. I was standing on a glacier that was floating on the ocean and at the edge of one of the sides of the glacier, the water was shooting out of the ocean forming shapes in the sky. Below it, I can make out a silhouette of a figure being chained to something. I ran over towards the silhouette wondering if that person needed help.

In a matter of time I reached the person who casted that silhouette and saw that she was chained to a sword, a big one too. It was almost as tall as she was and it was frozen to the ground. She looked really pretty. She was probably a little bit older than me but she still looked extremely beautiful. She casted this aura, it was cold and fierce but at the same time she seemed to be disappointed and delicate. I timidity ask her, "D..Do you need some help?"

"Yes, I do. But I'm used to this. I've been chained like this for... um... for about 7 years." she said as if it was nothing to her.

"Se...SEVEN YEARS!" I said shockingly. My hands reached out towards the chain that bind her body and the sword frozen to the ground trying to pull on it thinking that would free the girl that was bind from the chain.

"You can try but I don't think... it's time yet. I've been waiting and waiting, hoping it was time for that person to come and rescue me from this, from this seal. But my hopes are long from gone now because I've waited so long and she hasn't shown up." she said with disappointment.

"Who is this she?" I asked as my hands made contact with the chain. As if the chain recognized the key like a scanner recognized the fingerprint, light shone from my hands when it made contact with it.

"I've been waiting for you."she said.

I was already shocked when light shone from the chain when my hands made contact with the chain, but now she says that she was waiting for me to rescue her who is a complete stranger to me. Everything that was happening right now made no sense to me. As I was being confused the chain that bind the girl shattered into a million pieces and got swept away when a light breeze blew over the glacier.

She looked beautiful. I bet there is no situation that could make her look bad. She even looked beautiful when she was bind by the chain but she looked even more beautiful when she was free from imprisonment. It was as if the chain that binded her also binded her potential.

She had dark brown hair, a little lighter than my hair which is black, and her eyes, they were the color blue. It was blue like water being frozen but there was a slight difference. It kind of seemed like there was a little sliver mixed in with it. But it was magnificent. She wore a sky blue halter belt dress. The belt she wore was white. It matched her dress perfectly. It was as if it was made for her. Her dress... no, not only her dress, her presence, her being, reminded me of a battle field in the middle of the ocean. No one would ever expect a battle in the middle of the ocean so you would predict it was peaceful. But it was always guarded, protected and ready for a battle. It was like there was a sword stabbed into the center of the ice that was meant for protection and battle.

"What do you mean?" I asked. As I watch the girl place her hands around the sword that was against her back when she was bind together by chains. The sword shrunk to the exact right size for the girl to hold and fight with. She pulled at the sword with what looked like little force and it came loose. I thought it would have taken a little more effort since it was frozen by ice but it didn't seem to matter.

"Do you know where you are?" she asked me. That's an unusually question to ask someone, I thought.

"Um... on a glacier in the middle of the ocean." I replied as I watched her play with the sword.

"That answer is partially correct. Technically you are on a glacier but I'm asking where is this place? Is it in the real world or..." she asked.

"Obviously it's in the real world." I replied.

"Well, your wrong. It's not obvious since you got it wrong. This place, it is not in the real world. This place is called your inner world." she said as I gave her a confused look. She explained a little bit more thinking it would help clear my confusion, "Its a world that only you can enter. So basically its your soul." she said.

"So.. your saying I entered my own soul?" I asked being creeped out because who would have thought you could enter your own soul. "If what your saying is true then why are you here? Why are you in my inner world, my soul?"

"That's because I'm not mortal. I'm not an actual human. I live in your soul." she said.

"What do you mean your not mortal? You seem pretty mortal to me." I said.

"In other words I'm your power." she explained. "Remember when you felt like you were useless and you were powerless among the others?'

"Yea, but what does that have to do with this?" I asked.

"What I'm saying is that the only reason why you felt so powerless, useless, and hopeless was because the power you hold was buried. Your powers were locked up with a secure seal."

"Hold on. What do you mean I have powers? I'm just a normal human. And anyway, what do you mean a secure seal? There is no seal around me." I protested.

"That's not true. And anyway how can you prove that you didn't have a seal on you?" she paused waiting for an answer but all I could do was give her a shrug. She continued, "The secure seal that locked up your powers was that chain you destroyed a few moments ago. That chain was a seal used to bind the user's power source from unleashing its potential. The only reason why you believed that you didn't have any powers or was special in anyway was because of that seal."

"Who placed that seal on me and why?"

"Well, who know." she said but I could feel it. I could feel that what she said isn't everything she knows. She's hiding something from me. "What's important right now is that your power source, which is me, is freed from its imprisonment. The powers that you hold will now be released from its prison." she said but what followed was a rumble that was really loud. It sounded like an earthquake.

"What's happening? Is this suppose to happen?" I asked as my body tried to keep its balance.

"Were running out of time." she said. "Listen to me carefully. The gem that you found in the lake is the gem that everyone is searching for. That was also another element that helped you proceed in freeing me. It's overwhelming powers with your own potential brought you to your inner world. Carmen, believe in yourself. Your not a nobody. You just haven't searched for your powers. You need to be brave. Remember...," she was saying but her voice and her presence was suddenly beginning to sound and felt distanced and her last few words was barely audible, "..wa...ter... is... your... po..wer."

Before I could let all those words she said to me sink in, I blanked out again.
