The greatest fear is the fear of being alone

---------------------------------------

"Aww, lucky you!", Emily gushed when Anna told her everything that happened. "First Elliott, then Caleb."

She put her head down on the table and sighed. "Em, don't start again."

"Fine fine. But is any one of them 'qualified' enough to be your crush?"

"You know I don't make crushes on a first day basis.", Anna replied, though she had to admit, she'd already imagined how she'd look with the lunch guy.

She frowned at her habits. "Eat up."

After lunch had been normal. It turns out that both the 6th and 7th classes that Anna had were next to what the 'lunch boy' had. She kept seeing him and her heart kept beating faster around him. She didn't like it at all.

Emily put the pasta in her mouth and pointed at her friend with the same fork. "You're blushing. Stop thinking about boys."

Anna covered up her cheeks. "I'm not thinking about anyone."

The front door opened and the sound of her parents echoed around the living room. Anna cleared her throat and rubbed her cheeks to get rid of her blush. It was good that she didn't have pale skin.

"Hello girls. How was today?", Andrea asked them as she put her briefcase down beside the black couch. Anna was a total replica of her mom, except her hair. Her mom was a redhead woman.

Her mom stayed to prepare dinner in the kitchen while her dad gave them a smile and headed upstairs and to their bedroom.

Emily finished her bowl of pasta and took it to the dishwasher in the kitchen. Anna started to follow her but just then her iPhone vibrated.

It was from Leah. She didn't even know they had exchanged number. It said 'Hey girl, party tomorrow. Inform your parents', but with multiple 'u' in 'girl' instead of 'i' and lots of grammar mistakes.

Anna raised her eyebrows. Why are they so suddenly acting like they've been best friends with her for years?

She quickly put her phone away when she saw Emily coming. She knew her friend wouldn't be happy to see the text message.

Anna's mom headed up to change her clothes after making dinner and safely wrapping it. Anna remembered the state her room was in and how her mother reacts to even a little remote control being misplaced. She raced upstairs before her mom and went inside her bedroom, closing the door so that her mother doesn't see her pig-sty of a room, and started cleaning it.

Emily chuckled at her friend's behaviour. This was what happened everyday. Even though Anna and her mother looked alike, their personalities clashed.

She waited for her friend as she toyed around with her phone when she heard Anna's beep aloud. She slid her finger across the screen, typed the passcode and unlocked it only to see that it was a message from Anna's brother, Kyle, but Anna had kept his name as 'Kylie' in her phone.

Hey sissy, Stop giving the delivery guy my address! My place is filled with the dresses you ordered. Pick them up soon.

-Kylie

Emily chuckled again. Their families were really similar.

When she closed the message, something caught her eye. Leah sent a text message to Anna?

She opened the text message and read it.

Anna skipped downstairs. She could never understand how her room could be so messy without her noticing. It took longer to clean up. She saw her mother setting up the table.
