"You're getting paranoid over this," Brittani said as we took on the familiar path to the armory. I happen to bump into her while I was running for my life. Relief flooded me so much that I hugged her. "Lauren doesn't work for Cassandra! No one does."
"It just felt so scary at that time. Please, don't leave me like that again." I said.
"Kate, I'm not always gonna be there for you. You need to learn how to protect yourself. That is why you are here, that is why you're being trained. And given the situation you are in... you will be in a hell lot more trouble."
I didn't want to think about this 'situation' of mine. Knowing that there are formidable number of enemies out there to kill you is bad enough. I can't lose myself stressing out over it.
"You wouldn't hand me over, right?" I asked.
"I won't let them. If it's the last thing I do." Brittani said with such certainty that I too wanted to believe it.
"Where is Cassandra anyway? She's starting to get under my skin."
"Cassandra is separated from us. She has a special case and you're not allowed to see her." She said.
"A deranged lunatic who's been wanting to kill me, where have I heard that before?"
"The only lunatic here is you. Come on, we're going to be late."

I might as well been holding a toothpick with this dagger.
Once I saw the other Guardian's weapons, I was immediately reminded that a weapon was for killing and not for show. I caught a few roll of eyes when I pulled Bane out. We were given a few minutes of training with a wooden mannequin and after that we needed to show what we can do with our weapons at the Blade Dome, the room where we saw Eric fighting with the other guy earlier.
I saw a girl with a spiky iron cludgel swinging it effortlessly with one hand as she beats the wooden target. One guy had a massive hammer that has a double-faced head the size of molding tray used to make pie.
The voice I have heard who happens to be Lord Hawke - the first Wind Guardian - chooses the weapon that you will have. Brittani told me that a weapon says a lot about someone's personality. Does this means that I am all for show and no substance? No. I'll show them. I'll use this weapon to it's full potential.
"Kate, come over here!" Brittani called over. I bolted towards the archery range, She was standing at about ten feet away from her target. Brittani shot the mannequin squarely on the head, her shot was amazingly accurate.
"What are you doing? You're supposed to be training." She said. "Where's your dagger?"
"Here," I held out the knife for her to see. The gem planted at the hilt threw off a shaft of light when it reflected the sun's rays. I blinked at how bright the blade shined under the sunlight, even Brittani had to squint to snatch the dagger.
"There are two ways of weilding this thing," She explained. "First is this," She twisted the knife by it's hilt so that the silver blade stuck out between her thumb and her index finger. "You hold it this way when you're about to fling it, watch." She skillfully threw the dagger at the mannequin. It hit exactly on the same spot where her arrow previously landed, that the wooden stick broke into two.
"Whoa." was all I could manage to say.
"The second way is like this," She stuck out her hand and the knife flew back into it, seperating itself from the wooden block. Brittani held the knife into a stabbing gesture.
"This is how you use it when you're engaged in direct combat."
She did a couple of swipes before returning the dagger back to me.
