The local police had investigated the crime scene already. But Rajiv was not satisfied. He couldn't help notice Robin's name popping up every now and then. I think Robin should be the Mask. Why would anyone kill them?. Only Robin has a motive-they ruined his name.
*Beep beep*
Text message. From unknown. Even Truecaller couldn't find who.
"Mr. Rajiv. I'm immensely grateful for the search you have done. Congrats on arresting Robin. He had really been such a pain. I must warn you,
Mingling grandiosity and short sightedness is a hurdle to me. You take it out or I take it."
What does this even mean? Damn if I get you, whoever you are, I'll rip you off.
"Sir? This message came from Panaji, Goa. I located the tower sir. But the problem is the sim card is now invalid. So I can't track it down. Moreover, the previous text and this text wasn't from the same number. If he could call you, we can track him easily",my comrade from the cyber crime department came in and announced.
My phone began to ring. I grabbed it and took the call. It got cut. I lost him again. After a full five minutes, it rang again. With the same demeanor, I grabbed it once again and breathed heavily into it.
"Hello?"
" Office of the Joint Commissioner of Police. Who is this?"
"Hello. Sir it's from E-2 Police Station, Panaji. We have arrested Robin. He had been hiding in Shreya's house."
"Good. Keep him in custody for two days. I'll ask the authorities to transfer the case to me."Phew. I got hold of him. Wait he is in Goa? Panaji? I think he should be the one. But he doesn't look like the killer type. Ahhhh. Fine. I have to go and see his another ex's body.
Shreya's POV
I finally reached Kolkata to get my assignment done. The flight had been delayed due to monsoons. There has been continuous rain for three days. The petrichor had swayed my soul. I let out a sigh. It's a beautiful set for a sober day, I thought.I went to Aradhana Medical Institution to carry out my first task.
Task: To find Dr. Nabeel and silence him for a day.
Status: Yet to accomplishI sent a text to Mr. Bagadia, the stage-setter. He had to make sure that no one hinders my path.
I walk towards the pale and yellow building named "Special Ops". This was the team of doctors that recreate a crime scene to give a detailed description of the dead person's death. A.K.A "Postmortem".
Dr. Nabeel headed this very squad. And it was my duty to do a reverse roleplay. I walked up to the gate of the door.
The scene was like any other hospital. The nausatic odour of sterilisers stinging your nose as you enter the hallway. Clicking of surgical knives. Doctors having medical monologues with their mates. However, what made this building special was that, there were no patients that were alive. All of them are dead and mostly mutilated. It felt so awful to walk towards Dr. Nabeel's cabin. At last I reached there in my white nurse formals knocking the door with a maids woman's touch. He asked me to enter. I judged the surroundings. Without anyone's notice I closed the anonymous zip I tailored into my nurse-skirt. He asked what was the purpose of my visit. I sat down in the chair opposite to him. He was busy reading the files and flipping the pages. He noticed me eyeing him. I got up and told,"Welcome to heaven Dr. Nabeel.",bent over and took out the needle from the hidden zip and pressed it into his left collar. He fell asleep. I quickly disposed the needle and placed a sedated cup of coffee. Thank God Dr. Nabeel kept his every meeting private-with no CCTVs. I walked out calmly with the files he was reading. I changed my dress into a formal business attire and cleansed myself in the not-so-hygenic bathroom. I stepped out with confidence. No one sees Shreya. I strode towards the main road and caught a cab to go to the hotel where Dr. Nabeel was deployed. I showed my fake id card to the receptionist and made my way to the deserted room where the dead body lay. I saw Bella- the corpse. I put on my white gloves and covered my nose with a mask. I turned her body and slid my hand down her legs. Then I found it. The chip. I cut open that part and took out the microchip. I cleaned it with a cotton and placed it neatly in a zip lock cover. I stitched the skin back and dressed it neatly. I wasn't a professional, but who cares? She's already dead. I clicked pictures of her complete body and bruises. She was torchered and killed. She died of poisoning. Surprisingly, all this appeared only after a day she died. The bruise marks on her skin resembled thorns prying deep into her skin. She looked dreaded. After judging her state, I left the room and walked towards the lift. As I was waiting for the lift, I could see Rajiv from far.
OMG. I shouldn't be seen by him. I ditched the idea of going in a lift and took to the stairs. I climbed down as fast as I could, as quitely as I could. I rushed out when I got to the ground floor. The car that Mr Bagadia sent was waiting. I got into it and we rushed out of the premises.Third person POV
I saw you Shreya. Since the time I have landed, I have been noticing you. In the hospital, in the room, I have been silently watching you. You must repent for your sins. You will, like your acquaintance Bella. I need the right time to savour you and finish you off. Until then I must wait.....
A hooded figure snooped out of the hotel with a smoke in his hand and a file case in another......
