Matthew's POV

I finally get home after my first afternoon at the Literature Club. Now it's time to write a poem...geez...

Writing a poem is way harder than I thought it'd be!

I try to use cute, fluffy words in my poem that I think Natsuki would like. Oh god, I'm not trying too hard to impress her, am I?!

I spend about 2 hours writing and finalising it, with barely any time left to spare for anime. Worth it, I think to myself...

*time skip - the next day*

Before I know it, the school day is over and I'm back at the Literature Club. I was thinking about Natsuki all day...I just couldn't get her out of my head! I really hope she likes the poem...

"Hi again, Matthew!" Monika says sweetly as I enter the classroom. "I'm so glad you didn't run away on us! haha~"

"This might be a little strange for me, but at least I'm keeping my word," I reply.

I begin to zone out again, I'm so worried that Natsuki won't like my poem. I mean, I should get cut a bit of slack, I've never written a poem until now after all. I hear Monika poking fun at Natsuki for apparently keeping her manga collection in the clubroom. I personally think they should be a little more accepting of her interests...

"M-M-Manga is literature!" Natsuki yells at Monika as she walks off.

Some time passes and I decide that it's finally time I start to bond more with Natsuki. I find her rummaging around in the closet.

I hear Natsuki utter an exasperated sigh from inside the closet, I go in to see if she needs a hand.

"You looking for something in there?" I ask, trying to be helpful.

"Freaking Monika!" Natsuki partially yells, obviously angry. "She never puts my stuff back in the right spot! What's the point in keeping your collection organised if someone else is just gonna mess it up?" Natsuki rants.

Natsuki slides boxes of books across the shelf. "Manga..." I mumble quietly.

"You read manga, right?" Natsuki asks. "Ah-...sometimes..." I reply anxiously.

Manga is one of those things where you can't admit you like it until you know where the other person stands.

"...How did you know anyway?" I ask curiously. Natsuki just answers with "I heard you bring it up at some point," and I remember the awkward conversation with Yuri yesterday that she must have eavesdropped on. "I-I see..." is all I can say.

There's a lone volume of manga amidst a stack of various books on the side of one of the shelves. I pull it out of the stack to take a look.

"There it is!" Natsuki exclaims, snatching it out of my hand. She then turns to a box of manga and slips the volume right into the middle of the rest.

"Ah! Much better!" She says happily. "Seeing a box-set with just one book missing is probably the most irritating sight in the entire world!"

"I know that feeling," I reply, hoping that this would be the start of our bonding. What a coincidence that we're both into manga!

I get a closer look at the box-set she's admiring...

"Parfait Girls...?" I question. It's a series I've never heard of in my life which means it's way out of my demographic or it's simply terrible. Either way, I don't want to disrespect her by judging. After all, the other members of the Literature Club already give her a hard time about her interests.
