° a year later

a year and 6 after they first communicated normally without arguing, minjee has been spoiled with nothing but love and care from mark. their relationship has been nothing like a rollercoaster, and it was scaring minjee so much.

like a straight line, their relationship has been so sweet like candy minjee just hoped it was a line with no end. the girl is scared to lose the love of her life, giving up everything just for this man.

but this was not on mind's mark at all.

the boy has been growing tired of this relationship but still not breaking their togetherness because he knew it would only hurt minjee. he was tired of going out with the same girl over and over again. he needed something new.

he tried to show the girl that everything was okay, everything was fine. the only thing she needed to worry about was him breaking up with her all of a sudden. mark breaking up with her because he was so bored and could not care less anymore about minjee's feelings.

friends would say he would stick to one girl someday, but this girl was not minjee. maybe someday, but not this time.

minjee quickly arrived at mark's apartment right after her last class. mark texted her to come early to help him prepare for this random party he was throwing for the "hard work" of his teammates on the soccer team.

"hey love," mark said as he pecked minjee's cheek "renjun is over there placing the chips on the bowl. please go there and help him."

minjee quickly nodded and proceeded to the living room where her best friend was found. renjun gave her a small hug and continued doing what he was doing.

as they were both adding more chips into the bowl, renjun started the conversation. "i don't think minhyung is good for you. i've been telling you since last month, on every party he attends he flirts with other girls, hell knows what else he does when you're not around!"

minjee shushed him before mark can hear their conversation. the girl understands that her best friend cares for her, and he knows what's good for her.

"i know renjun. we've been together for a year already. remember our last breakup? i don't think i can ever handle being on that state ever again," minjee took a look back to check if anyone was listening.

renjun shook his head in disappointment, "so you're only with him because you're scared of getting your heart broken again? minjee, look at you. you're fucking addicted to him. i know you worry every night, forgetting to study because you talk to him every night, skipping your meals to buy him a gift— i don't think that's a positive effect on you, minjee. i'm sorry but i honestly prefer your heart broken again rather than to see you like this."

renjun left the room without saying another word, helping jeno pick some songs for the party.

the girl was left speechless and in complete thought. what has she done? she was so busy making mark happy she forgot about herself. the girl she used to be, is someone completely different from who she is now. the last time she talked to sunjee was more than a week, making her realize that she forgot her relationship with others.

a few hours after preparing, guests are starting to arrive. the party has already started after taeyong and the gang have arrived, working their way to the living room to start the fun.

mark hung his arm on minjee's shoulder, telling everyone how minjee was one of the best girlfriend to ever exist. "this is park— i mean kim minjee, my girlfriend! she's the best one you could ever ask for! go get a kim minjee but not my kim minjee!" mark slurred at his words, drunk on some drink his yuts hyung gave him.
