BEEP........ BEEP......... 7:00 am.
I get up and shut the alarm clock off. I lay on the guest bed, staring at the bare white ceiling. I imagine unicorns, pandas, and turtles floating across the wall.
BEEP...BEEP... BEEP...
"HOLLY?!?!" someone shouts from down the hall.
I run down the hall to find my Uncle Dave, burning in a fire and my Auntie Rose screaming in fright.
"Holly," she says quietly, "Go outside, NOW."
"But," I say as she cuts me off.
"No, go Holly."
I go to my room and climb out the open window. I walk over to the sidewalk, watching the house go up in flames. "Man, this house must have cost a fortune." I think to myself.
The neighbors must have called the fire people because they arrived at my Aunt and Uncle's house. It took them a long time to put out the fire, but by that time, my Aunt and Uncle were both dead. I am devistated.
"Um... Sir?" I ask one of the fireman.
"Yes, sweetie?" he asks back.
"Where will I live?"
"Um... Do have a mum or father?"
"My grandma took me away from my mum, then she died, so my Aunt and Uncle took care of me, but then they died. And my dad has gone away somewhere."
"Well, you will have to live in this place called an Adoption Home, where you will get a new mum and father."
"Ok," I say glumly while walking away with a frown spread across my face.
