*Ashton’s POV*

“Bro, you’re so in love with her.” Luke laughs, patting my shoulder as I watch Sabrina and her new friend walk away after the show. We start taking out our ear monitors and packing up to head to the van for a drive to the airport.

“I’m not in love with her. She’s my oldest friend.” I defend myself and my friendship, once again from my mates.

“We know, you’ve told us a thousand times.”

“Because you keep thinking I’m in love with her!”

After saying a brief hello to the amazing fans waiting outside the venue, we pack into the small van.

“We saw the look on your face when she left. I can’t believe you’re still denying it.” Calum shakes his head.

“I’m only denying it because it’s not true!”

“Okay, I’m going to ask you a series of questions really quickly and you have to answer with the first answer that comes to mind. No thinking allowed, alright?” Michael suggests, and I nod, thinking we were just going to play a game and I accept the challenge.

“Bring it on.” I rub my hands together, sitting up in my seat and turning to face Mikey beside me.

“What’s your favorite color?”

“Blue.”

“What’s your favorite food?”

“Spaghetti, duh.”

“What color is the sky?”

“Blue.

“Do you put on a sock then a sock, or a sock then a shoe?”

“Sock then a sock.” Hm, I never even had a second thought about it.

“Are you in love with Sabrina?”

“Yes.” My eyes widen and my jaw drops at my own answer. I didn’t even realize he asked me that until after I answered with what I never thought I’d say.

“I’m in love with her.” I say to myself whilst they all have proud smiles and high-five Mikey.

“Told you.” Michael smirks, victory practically radiating off his pale face.

“I think you should tell her.” Luke suggests, the other two nodding in agreement.

“I can’t. She sees me as her best friend. She’ll never love me as much as I love her.” I bow my head, playing with the rip in my jeans at my knee.

“I’m sure she will, mate. She needs you just as much as you need her. We could see how much she missed you in that diner last week.” Calum assures me.

“No, she needed me and I wasn’t there for her. Her parents got divorced and she and her mum have been struggling with money, and I had no idea because I haven’t spoken to her in months.”

“Then help her, show her you love her.” Michael shrugs as if it was so easy.

“You’ve seen how stubborn she is. I’ve offered to help her out with money, but fuck, she is irritatingly stubborn.” I grumble because of the annoying girl I love with all my heart. “I just don’t know what else to do. It’s too late now to talk to her in person and when I’m ready to tell her, I want to do it face-to-face.” I sigh, and it seems like the boys had no advice left to give, leaving me to figure it all out on my own.

I start with the one thing I just had to do, even against Sabrina’s wishes.
