Joey's P.O.V

Although Lauren said she was okay, I was still fairly concerned. Lopez is rarely upset. There are times of course, I mean we all have our reasons, but Lauren is just the kind of person who brings happiness everywhere she goes. Jeez my crush on her is really effecting me. I'm just worried.

I glance over at her to see if her expression has changed yet. Luckily, it has. This may be purely because she is too involved with the film now but at least she doesn't look sad. I contemplate on whether should ask again, just to be certain, but i decide against the idea in case it bothers Lauren.

The only thing worse than sad Lauren is angry Lauren. Believe me, I've witnessed it firsthand. The films pretty boring so I try to find something else to occupy my time, or to make me tired enough to fall asleep. As my eyes scan the room, they finally land on the bag of pretzels on the counter beside me.

Lauren hates it when people are loud. I take the bag and open it. Trying to be discreet, I scoot closer to her and grab a few pretzels. As I put them in my mouth I begin to chew at an obnoxiously loud and almost comical volume. I see her stare forward, but a glare grows on her face. She knows what I'm doing and she doesn't want to give me the satisfaction. As I grab some more, she turns to me, glaring. "Joseph what are you doing?" I give her an innocent look and smile, "Why Lauren, I have no idea what you're talking about."

"You know what you're fucking doing Joseph." she whispered, teeth clenched.

"Lolo, I'm just eating and what's the problem with that?"

"You're eating them so obnoxiously fucking loud."

"What do you want me to stop?" I said teasing with another innocent smile.

"Yes fucking please." She says, returning a fake smile back at me.

"Ok." I put down the pretzels and turn back to the movie. Lauren is smiling now, so I think I've made my impact. Her phone dings and she glances down. The smile on her face instantly brightens. Who could that be?

"Important text?"

"Nothing special, just Brad."

Of fucking course.

Good old Brad.
