Before 6 AM, Monday, June 20, 1994
In his dream, Kris and Kim didn’t only say good night… they also KISSED on it… and not just any kiss… umm… do I still have to describe it here? He he he… Anyway, the only thing I can say is Kris didn’t want to wake up just yet… and only the sudden knock on the door (in the form of thunder and rain suddenly pouring on him and Kim in the dream) brought him back to reality. He wanted to curse, because it wasn’t even time to wake up, but from past experience he knew better than shout at the knocker.
He opened the door instead, and it was Thea again, who told him that their mother told her to wake him up.
“Hrrggghhh… but it’s not even six!” Kris said, ruffling his hair.
Thea just smiled and walked away.
He collapsed in bed, wanting to dream again, but he couldn’t. He just started to prepare for school.
He got to school just the exact time. He went to 3-A, where he knows Paolo would be too. Sure enough, there he was and even from a far, Kris knew that Robbie had already related last night’s events.
“Really?!” He can hear Paolo say, “Awesome!! Too bad I couldn’t go… Oh, here’s the guitar god!” He already saw Kris coming up the ramp and was punched immediately.
“Hey!” Paolo said, “For all I know you really felt like a god onstage… what with such a beautiful angel beside you as Robbie here said haha! Didn’t anyone take pictures?”
“Pictures?” said Kris, “Our folks videotaped it! I’ll give you some VHS copies, because you gotta see how our folks performed too, man!”
“Yes Paolo”, said Robbie, “Let’s just say you’ll know for sure where we got it, eh?”
“Genes, huh?” said Paolo.
“Yes”, Robbie said, “because as you know, we often inherit the traits of our parents through genetics. It’s in our DNA’s imprint, I mean, the physical, emotional, physiological and psychological traits of our parents are passed to us through heredity. That includes the intellectual, athletic and in our case, musical abilities they have handed down to us – that is our DNA.”
Kris and Paolo just stood aghast all the while, and only a few seconds later did Kris manage to say,
“Dude… I know we’re at school and currently near the star section room… but… can you just speak Filipino when we’re together…?”
“Honestly dude”, Paolo said, “It’s like I went on drugs for a while… not that I’ve ever!” He quickly corrected himself.
“Okay okay I’m sorry he he” Robbie said, “but hey guys, it’s almost time for assembly.”
Kris and Paolo went back to their rooms and the day went on until lunch, with the three joined by Ernie and Tina again. It’s when, out of the blue, Paolo suddenly said something startling…
“Guys… I’m quitting the computer club…”
“Wh-wh-what?!” all, except Ernie, exclaimed. He just sat there, unconcerned.
“It’s getting quite boring there…” Paolo said.
“But you love it there dude…” Kris said, “Or so we know…”
“It’s just… after you said I can be road manager…”
“Road manager?” Tina suddenly said, “You mean you guys are forming a band?”
You and your big mouth Paolo!
Kris and Robbie both thought. However, all thought what the hell?
