I'm With You

Chapter 11

Chapter 11 (started 11/29/17)

After getting their luggage, Luke rushed over to Nick who had seemed to have some sort of plan in mind. He'd kept his source of where Nicole would be to himself but Luke did have an idea that it may have been Nicole's cousin, Maggie, or her good friend, Elizabeth. However, he kept his mind on what he would say when he saw her and how he would do whatever it took to make things better between the two of them and at whatever cost.

Nick called over a cab and told him that they were going to a hotel to get washed up then riding over to where Nicole would be so that they could talk and work things out.  However, Luke knew it wouldn't be easy because the papparazzi already noticed that T.O.U.C.H. had missed out on their new album release party and rumors that the band was M.I.A. were already swirling around.  He couldn't think about that now he just had to get to the love of his life before she decided never to give him another chance.

After a few minutes everything vanished into a veil of green.  The further they drove less and less houses or storefronts were visible from the car, it was as if they were entering another world entirely.  By the time they made it to the small cabin their fare was quite high and when he looked down at his cellphone there were no bars for signal at all.  Nick took out his wallet when the cab driver looked at him skeptically, that is until he shelled out what was owed along with an extra hundred for having driven them all the way out to nowhere.

"Thanks."

"No problem," Nick turned back to the cabin some feet away and walked over to Luke.  "You ready?"

"No."

"Well too late to turn back now."

"Yeah, I know.  I just hope she doesn't slam the door in my face."

Nicole sighed flipping through channels filled with an array of infomercials and romantic comedies.  Neither of which she had any interest in at the moment, Maggie and Mikey were staying in a hotel closer into town celebrating their honeymoon while Elizabeth was keeping Nicole company.  Both were content with no interaction in Elizabeth's family cabin.  It was old, drafty and the floors creaked eeirly in the night but it had a quaint charm to it.  No one would know where she was and come knocking she could just keep to herself until she was ready to be with family or go back to work.  She'd already made arrangements to stay for at least a week, calling her assistant manager back in England to let her know as well as anyone else she'd have meetings with in the next week.  Then she turned everything off so that she wouldn't be bothered during that time.  So she wasn't pleased in the slightest when a knock came at the door.

"Were you expecting anyone, Liz?"

"No, why?"

"There's someone at the door."

"Well see who it is?"

Nicole rolled her eyes, the whole point of getting away from it all was so that nothing came to bother her, that wasn't going to be easy when people kept bothering her.  She got up from the couch and went for the door, when she opened it she immediately slammed it shut and yelled.  How could he know she was there?  How could Luke show up after what he had done to her?

Elizabeth ran out into the livingroom with her hair wrapped up in a towel and wearing a t shirt and sweats.  "What the hell was that all about?"

"He's here!  After what he did to me, he's outside?!" As she said it Nicole couldn't believe that it was true, that Luke was standing just on the other side of the door.
