"we haven't hung out in like— i feel like it's been decades— centuries!" yoongi complains, exaggerating on purpose to get on jiseo's nerves. "what the hell have you been doing that's gotten you so busy? i'm rotting in loneliness."

"it's only been a few days," jiseo rolls her eyes. the cafeteria is a cacophony of loud chatter, so they both have to raise their voices higher than usual in order to let their voice be audible to other party. the aroma of the mediocre food glides across the air. each table consists of a huddle of students that are raising their voices as well in order to be heard above the din. if it weren't a throng of students, it may just be a two, three or a single lonesome person sitting at one of the smaller tables.

"only been a few days," yoongi mocks in a higher pitched voice, typing on his laptop to finish an assignment.

"haha, funny," jiseo responds. "don't sulk about it, yoongi. let's go somewhere after i finish class."

yoongi gives a satisfied expression, "treat me an americano."

"jiseo! what a surprise!" namjoon greets jiseo heartily. jiseo on the other hand has never come to thought of meeting namjoon again, but it seems like the universe made other plans. the police officer is sporting the usual dark blue uniform and shiny coal colored shoes. he stands there, holding a latte or americano, jiseo isn't quite sure.

"oh, who's this?" yoongi asks while he flickers his attention from the police officer to jiseo.

"i'm namjoon," the officer answers before jiseo can even open her mouth to speak. he seems to be in a good mood— actually, jiseo isn't quite sure about that either as she has never really gotten to known him. the male holds out his right hand and yoongi accepts it, shaking it and introducing himself.

"we met through j—"

"a friend," jiseo cuts him off. explaining how we met is unnecessary, she thinks. one of namjoon's eyebrows quirks up as he notices how jiseo interrupts him. "they're not in your circle of friends, so you don't know them."

"i see," yoongi said, puzzled but he shrugs it off. namjoon asks if he can sit with them, jiseo gives a nonchalant nod, glancing at yoongi but the boy in front doesn't seem like he minds at all as he takes a sip from his iced americano.

the melody of the voices from the customers and light music drifts through jiseo's ears. the tang of coffee and fresh pastries engulfs the air in the warm cafe with colorful walls as sunlight shines through the windows.  yoongi and namjoon oddly gets along quickly as they converse with each other. jiseo just listens to the both of them.

the female's eyes roam around the place, the television on the wall snatches her gaze though when she sees a gruesome photo of a dead body whilst the news lady talks about a crime that has taken place. she feels like the chatter from yoongi and namjoon, and the customers of the cafe drown out as she focus on the news.

"our story today is about the dead body that was found in the alleyway of the city last night. we will be going live to our reporter who is currently at the crime scene as they walk through what happened." the camera pans to the reporter on duty as they introduce themselves. "yes, well, a dead body was found here at the alley of one of the more deserted streets in the city. it is suspected that it happened around 3:00am. it seems like the body has been stabbed with a knife multiple times, ultimately causing the death of this man. reasons as to why this happened has not been confirmed yet as the police are still investigating the crime scene."

"a dna test has revealed the identity of the man, who has been involved in previous crimes in the past," the reporter continues. a picture of a owner of the dead body appears on the screen, and jiseo feels like her eyeballs couldn pop out of their sockets, she wants to scream because she recognizes him. it's the pepertrator from the night she almost got stabbed, the person who chased jungkook and her. the haunting memory of jungkook grabbing the knife and saving her crawls into her mind sends shivers up her spine.

the reporter is still talking but at this point, jiseo isn't listening anymore. the thought of how the man was stabbed with a knife to death as well scares the shit out of her. she doesn't want to get carried away by the bad thoughts but right now, all she's thinking about is how jungkook may be involved and it makes her sick. she hopes not, she hopes he wouldn't go that far, he would never go that far.

"damn, the person who did that must be insane," yoongi says, making jiseo turn her head and look at him. "you're a police officer right? you know what happened?" he asks namjoon.

namjoon seems to be looking at jiseo for a second too long and jiseo can't help but to think that something is wrong. "not my task so i don't know about any of that."

yoongi only nods at namjoon response. jiseo reaches out her hand to grab her phone, typing in the password and unlocking it. then, she taps on jungkook's contact name.
