Winry and Alphonse who were at home worried about Edward, since he was never late for dinner were about to say something till they heard keys and the door unlock, turning to see Edward walk in with a flustered scowl as he closed the door with a slam, ''Brother, I was trying to call you earlier, we were getting worried-''. ''Shut up, I know!'' Edward said making Al and Winry jump up at the angered tone, surprising them, ''Okay... You need to chill Ed, Al was just worried.'' Winry cut in with a worried but serious expression and tone, making Edward scowl more at how he had taken his anger out on his brother, ''...I'm sorry... I'm going to my room, I'm kind of tired...'' Edward lied. ''Did I do something wrong?...''Al asked with a worried expression till feeling Winry put a hand on his shoulder, ''No... I think Ed just had a bad day... Let's just give him his space, okay?'', ''Yeah...'' Al said quietly concerned for his brother who was in his room sitting on the floor, red in the face making a face, putting his hands on his face in flustered confusion, ''I want more...''. ''Good morning, leaving without me?'' Edward said to Al and Winry who were about to leave without him, seeing them stop and turn to him surprised to see Edward dressed in torn black jeans, boots, and a long sleeved shirt that fell off his right shoulder, followed by his hair down covering his neck and part of his shoulder throwing them off, ''?...''.
''...Let's go...'' The blond said walking ahead of his brother and friend who looked at one another surprised and confused but didn't say anything, following after Edward stopping at a small coffee shop near the college and Edward's job, ''How's work?'' Winry asked to Edward who sighed when he put his cup of coffee down on the table. ''It's okay... I just wish it wasn't so boring sometimes.'' Edward admitted with his usual shrug and bored expression, surprising both Alphonse and Winry who looked at one another confused, ''Hah?... Boring?'' Both asked in unison seeing Edward quickly pull out his sketchbook and charcoals with a serious casual expression. ''Maybe it's just me, but... Maybe I can change that...'' Edward said with a flustered expression confusing Al and Winry more, making Edward realize what he said, ''...Ah...'', ''You're in a good mood for once... What brought this change?'' Al and Winry asked in unison a bit concerned, making Edward realize that Roy had relieved some of his stress. ''I... A-Am I?...'' Edward asked confused, ''Yeah... You are...'' Winry replied with a concerned but content smile, since Edward was rarely in a good mood so it made her a bit happy, ''Yeah, you're usually uptight and grumpy.'' Alphonse added making Edward nervous and glance down, ''But seriously, you look better when you're in a good mood.'' Winry said smiling.
''You're off today right? You don't have class or work today, so we'll see you at home, that way you can work on your class assignment.'' Edward thought back to what Alphonse and Winry told him before going off to class, finishing up the portrait of Hawkeye he was working on before in the quiet park glancing up at the clear sky, ''It is a nice day today...'' He said softly. ''Hi.'' A new small voice said making Edward look down confused, ''Hmm?'' Looking at a small girl with large green eyes, pigtails, a pink dress and black baby doll shoes looking at him with a smile, ''Hello... Where did you come from?'' Edward asked. The moment the small girl opened her mouth to answer, a new voice cut in, ''Elicia! Don't run off like that, you almost gave me a heart attack!'' The voice said making Edward look up to see what appeared to be the mother; Short hair, same green eyes, flats, and matching dress, ''Sorry it's not what it looks like.'' He said with a laugh seeing the woman smile at him. ''I know... My daughter was watching you from far for some reason, I guess she got a bit curious about you, and ran off to you when I turned my back on her...'' The mother said with a laugh gesturing to her daughter, ''Come on Elicia let's go... Let's not bother the nice boy, okay?'' She asked making the small girl sit next to Edward and grab his arm, ''No! I want to play with him!''.
''...Elicia Honey, please...'', ''No! He draws like daddy used to, I want to see him draw!...'' The small girl said making the others green eyes look pained but brush it off, making Edward realize the small girl struck a personal nerve with her mother, ''Hey... Listen to your mother... Don't give her any trouble...'' Edward said looking down to the small girl who looked upset. ''...I'm sorry...'' She started making the blond feel a bit bad, since the small child just wanted someone to play with getting an idea, ''Hey... I got an idea... I can draw you something and play with you after... Only if you promise to stop giving your mommy trouble, you promise?'' Edward said seeing the small girl look down nervously but turn over to her mother. ''I'm sorry Mommy... I won't give you trouble again...'' Elicia said with Gracia sighing but give a kind understanding smile, glancing over to Edward smiled at her nervously, ''You're good with kids...You remind me of one my husbands best friend.'' Gracia complimented making the blond blush ''... Do I?...'' He said back realizing he hadn't introduced himself yet. ''I'm Edward, Edward Elric.'' Edward introduced with a smile, holding his hand out to the mother who smiled back shaking his hand, ''I'm Gracia Hughes... And this is my Daughter Elicia.'' Gracia introduced noticing the hickeys on his neck and shoulder, ''He's not very good at hiding those...'' She thought with Edward speaking again.
''I actually just finished my assignment for class, I can draw something for Elicia.'' He said seeing Elicia's eyes fill up with joy, and glance over his drawing, ''He drew Miss Hawkeye.'' She said surprising Gracia that he knew Riza, looking at the portrait that resembled the blonde perfectly, ''You know Hawkeye?'' Edward asked surprised putting the drawing away. ''Of course, we go a long way back. You know we're just over there, If you want to join us so the sun doesn't hit you too much.'' She offered seeing Edward nod with a flustered smile, ''Sure.'' He answered with the young girl jumping up in joy and running back to where they were, ''She really likes you.'' Gracia said with a smile leaving Edward to grab his stuff and catch up to them. ''How do you know Hawkeye?'' Gracia asked as Elicia searched through her bag, ''I met her where I work at.'' Edward answered blushing not wanting to bring up he worked at a sex shop, ''She's kind isn't she? Elicia what are you looking for in there?'' The mother said turning to her daughter who smiled, pulling a small rectangular case. ''The photo of daddy! I want big brother to draw daddy!'' Elicia answered holding the case towards Edward who looked surprised, looking over to Gracia who didn't look surprised, ''Well... Sorry about that Edward...'', ''It's fine, you think I can borrow the photo, and drop by your place when I'm done with the drawing?''Edward asked seeing Gracia nod smiling, ''Of course, let's just exchange information.''
