I quickly cover my ears when I hear the old squeaky speaker turn on."Jessie Leander, please come to my office"The voice which I knew all to well."What did I do now?Maybe if i pretend im not here he will think im out sick."I think to myself.As soon as my thought ended the old speaker came on once again.

"Don't even try to lye I know your
here Jessie.My office NOW."The voice demands.

I grunt.

Everytime I get called to his office I know I'm screwed.As I get ready to walk up the stairs when my best friend at the office, Kate stops me.

Kate was 7 years older than me.She was really tall and had long black hair that reached her mid-back.Her eyes were a crystal blue color.She was my first friend at the office.She may have been 23 but she had a mind of a 18 year old.

"What did you this time Jess?"She asks annoyed at how I always get into trouble.

"Kay,I swear I didn't do any thing."I say hoping she will believe me. She rolls her eyes."Don't forget our agreement."She says."If you get in trouble before Christmas I get to sell your stupid star wars collection."She says with the cheesiest grin.My eyes turn from my usual green color to a deadly black im gonna kill you color.
"Star wars is awesome and the only thing that's stupid in this world is sponge cake!" I yell at the top of my lungs.Never mess with my star wars.Her grin turns wider.

"Really...sponge cake?"She asks very amused.

"Yes, Its stupid... its not a sponge and it doesn't taste like a sponge."I explain.

"I don't even want to know how you know what a sponge taste like."She smiles.

"No matter what don't change yourself, kid." She says looking a little less happy.

She hugs me and leaves me with my thoughts.I didn't know what she was talking about but I felt like I had bigger problems. The stairs that only had about 10 steps seem to have grown into 270 steps.I walk up the stairs and slowly open the door.
I was shocked to see my boss standing there not mad but unsettled?

"Look what ever you think I did it wasn't me I swear."I defend.He put his hand up to tell me to stop talking."Jessie sit down."He says calmly.
I hesitate."Please."He asks.
Then I knew something was wrong he NEVER says please. I sit down on the red cushioned seat.He mirrors my actions as he sits across from me.

"Jessie,you've been at the ABB (agents beyond boarder) for as long as I can remember. You're brother was the best spy we ever had." He says. I stay quite not wanting to talk."You may get into trouble a lot but you are definitely his little sister.His soul is shining threw you."He says sadly smiling.

"Before you're brother died he told me something...and I knew this day would have to come."He says pulling out a pice of paper from out of His pocket.He hands it to me.It was a paper that had a bunch of words but the one that stood out the most was California.

"What's this?"I ask. "This is your ticket to a better life."He Answers. "Could you explain that a little better?"I ask not knowing what was going on."Jessie,you've been here at ABB so long you haven't had time to be a regular teen."He starts.
"While most 16 year old girls are driving cars and talking about boys you're fighting most wanted criminals and learning how to kill people." He says looking as if someone just told him the world was gonna end.

"Before he died I promised him that I would take care of you and try to give you a normal life." I've never seen him so...broken."Jessie I love you like my own 2 daughters that's why I'm doing what I'm about to tell you."He takes a deep breath."A very nice family in California said they'd take you in and raise you and you'll be able to live a good life."His eyes turn red as if he was gonna cry.

NO NO NOOOOO! This can't be happening to me!

" What!This isn't fair I want to stay here with everyone else! I don't wanna be normal! I want to stay in Miami!" I yell half way threw tears myself.

"I'm sorry I already signed the custody papers."He looks down at his desk."I'm sorry."He tells me. "You're plain leaves tomorrow at 5."He says.

"The maid at the house packed all your stuff all you need now is to get your stuff out of your office."He continues to not look at me.
"Im sor-"He starts,but I was already gone.

I was running down the stairs when I tripped and a stranger caught me.I look up to see it was the new boy from the security down stairs.I quickly jump out of his grip and stand up to face him.

"Are you ok?"He asked looking slightly worried.

"Im fine."I say not macking eye contact with him.

He study's me for what seems like for ever when he finally just says"ok." and keeps walking. This day just keeps
Getting worse and worse.

*Next Morning*

I wake up to the smell of my favorite breakfast unfortunately I know it will be the last time I smelt eggs, ketchup and onions.I sit up and look around my room which had nothing in it.I'd miss this place so much.I'd miss the 2 malteses dogs Luna and moonshine and the maid Mrs.Mindy and most of all I'd miss the agency.

I get up and walk twords down stairs not ready for today.When I reach the top of the stair case I notice something odd.All the helpers and staff in the mansion were in rows

At the bottom each with something in there hands.

I slowly approach one of them and whisper ask "What in the name of chicken nuggets is going on!"He laughs."It's your going away gifts,ma'am."He tells me.

I walk down each row and thank them all for the thought and kindness of there gifts.It took forever but it was worth a sore throat to see them smile.

I walk into the kitchen to see my eggs with ketchup and onions and I adamantly get ready to dig in when a voice stops me.

"Jessie you didn't forget my present, did you?"I turn around to see my boss/step father standing there with a box with a ribbon around it.

"No of course I didn't forget."I say.
I've tried to forget tho."Jessie I really am sad you must go but its for the best."He hands me the box give me a slight kiss on the forehead and runs out the door for work.

I open the box to see it a picture of me and him when I first came to live with him.We were at the fair when we took it.On the frame it said best day ever.I smile and set it down beside me.

I get ready to eat my breakfast when another voice stops me, well more than one.

"Of course Jessie is still eating breakfast at 1:39 in the afternoon."I turn to see my 2 favorite people Mark and Kate.

"Kayyyy!"I yell as I jump into her arms."Hey, What am I chopped liver?"Mark asks.I jump up and give him a hug as well.He's was my brothers best friend before he died.
"Seriously kid why are you still eating?"He asks like its any of his business. "Im sorry I didn't know my hangry-ness was your business."I tell him.

"You tell him,girl!"Kate yells."Girls."He mutters after rolling his eyes.We all go silent before breaking into a high tension laugh.

"Here's your gifts!"Kate says handing me 2 boxes. "We would stay but we don't wanna get fired so we gotta run."Mark says before running out of the house.

"Please don't mind my brother weirdness."She laughs.

oh,I forgot to mention they are related.

She huggs me and quickly chases after mark out the door.

I sit down again ready to dig in but once again a voice stops me....This is gonna be a long day.
