THOSE MEMORIES

199 18 17

As I sat by the window one night,
Looking at the trees and the moon,
Effortlessly I was pulled down the memory lane,
To be engulfed by longing soon.

 -

Before you came along in my life,
To me, the worst weakness was emotion,
You coaxed me to break my walls
With your care, concern and affection.

 -

I remember the thousand emotions,
That your eyes used to hold,
Such a romantic fool I was,
Never noticed when they went cold.

 -

You were like the mirage,
Which kept moving away,
Me being pathetically hopeful,
Kept running to you anyway.

 -

Sitting by my window,
I wonder if you too,
Go down the memory lane,
As often as I do.

 -

If you remember me often,
And all that I shared with you,
I sighed as a tear escaped my eyes,
Into the wind I whispered a “I love you”.
