Now that you understand who Emmet Robinson is, we can move on to the main story.  After the trial, Emmet decided to go see his friend, Leonardo, who lives right across the street from the Juttingburg Courthouse.  Leonardo is the type of guy you would see laying around in his house or in the park.  He’s a pretty lazy kind-of-guy.  However, he’s not overweight.  He takes care of himself pretty well.  He has blond hair, with a few freckles on his temples.  He has fair skin, and has an average height for his age.

“Leo, are you home?” Emmet asked as he knocked on the door.  Loud barks coming from Leonardo’s house started to burst in Emmet’s ears.  He’s home, Emmet thought.

“Manny, hush down!” Leo said as he opened the door.  “Hey Emmet, sorry I wasn’t answering.  I was brushing my teeth.”

“But it’s 5:00 PM.  How could you be brushing your teeth now?”

“I have a natural habit of forgetting to brush my teeth.  My doctor says it’s genetic.”

“I see,” Emmet said, uncomfortably.  Emmet usually has weird conversations like these with Leonardo, even before walking inside his house.  Sometimes, Emmet is the one starting the weird conversations.  That really is what makes Emmet and Leonardo very special friends.  They both can become insanely weird in conversations.

“Oh, how rude of me.  Come inside Em!”

“Okay, thanks!  Looks like you’ve been doing some decorating around here,” said Emmet as he walked through the door.

“Yup, that’s right!  I’m making way for the arrival of the baby.  The wife and I are super excited.”

“Oh, congrats, Leo! What were you going to name the baby?”

“I was thinking of Leo Jr.. .I just love that whole style of having your baby’s name the same name as yours, just with Jr. at the end.”

“How cool!  Leo Jr…..it’s pretty catchy,” Emmet said.

“Yeah, it is.  But, you want to know something weird?  When Susy told me that she was pregnant, I realized that I never remembered us actually….you know…trying.”

“Trying?  You mean for a baby?” Emmet asked.

            “Yeah.”

“Gosh, I’ve never been in a situation where it didn’t actually work…I thought that the reproductive system could be easily persuaded.”

            “Emmet!”

“I’m serious!  I never thought it couldn’t actually work.”

“Of course it doesn’t always work!  If it always worked, our population would be twice its size!” Leonardo proclaimed.

“So, then, why is it that some people tend to have many babies?  Are their bodies more manageable than others?”

“Man, Emmet, you may be a lawyer, but you sure need a class on Sex-Ed.”

“Yeah, that’s one thing my parents never really taught to me.  I just thought that babies magically became babies when the two….things….met.”

Just before the topic could get even weirder, the Emmet’s phone rang.

“Oh, that must be the wife,” Emmet said.  “Let me get that…Hello?  Hey Honey, what’s going on?...Okay…Uh huh…Yeah, sure…I’ll be there in a few minutes…Okay, love ya…Bye…Guess I should get going, Leo.  Vicky’s got dinner ready.”
