"Let's go girls!" I say holding hands with my two besties for three years Millie and Patricia, or Pat for short. We were going to the mall.
"I can't wait to buy our clothes for tonight's party! Do you think he'll be there?" Millie asks as she turns bright red, remembering her encounter with the most popular guy of the school, Charles Thompston. He gave her a letter saying about how he likes her and if she'd like him to be her boyfriend. And Millie as she is, would of course be delighted.
"Duh, he wouldn't miss this opportunity to be with you anyways, after all. His big brother's friend was the one that set this party up in the first place." I say with a roll of my eyes.
"You guys really are sweet together. For many years you've been fantasizing him, seems like your dream really came true in the end." Pat says with a grin.
"I'm guessing Rick would be there as well," I say with a wink to Pat in which she blushes in return.
"Don't you dare bring his name up," Pat scolds, though she couldn't hide the smile that's forming.
"I know you like him, no need to deny it," I grin widely. "Though what on earth do you find special about him? Same goes to you too Millie?" I question, because I never understood how girls could like boys. Is it their cheesy words? How they look?
"You'll soon learn darling," Millie pats my shoulder in reassurance.
"When the time comes for you," Pat smirks knowingly. We head to the clothing store and did a scavenge hunt for all the best clothes and piled them all together. Hopefully no one sees this mess, I gulp.
"Now that all the best ones are here, let's choose for each of us one by one. Pat, you're up first," I say as I rummage through the pile and came across with a stunning flowy aqua dress that reaches right at shin length. "What'd you think?"
"Definitely that one, because it highlights her eye colour since it's hazel," Millie says.
"Well, I could where an aqua coloured hairband, a bracelet and some heels and it'll surely match with that dress. So yep, I'm taking that one." Pat agrees.
"Now Ainul, you're next."
...
"Assalamu'alaikum Umi!" I call out as I dash out of the house with my glittery dark violet dress that reaches my shin. A dark black hijab match it with a purple watch, no way for jewellery. Not waiting for my mother's response, I head to my friends' mum car where Pat and Millie are waiting with their beautiful attire and sat in.
"Hi Mrs Flaire," I greet to Millie's Mum, whom is driving.
"Hello dear, you look beautiful," she compliments.
"Thanks,"
"Hey Ainul, wow you look so damn hot," Millie grins from ear to ear.
"You may just get a guy," Pat winks. I roll my eyes in annoyance.
"You know how I have no feelings for any guy whatsoever, my pillow is my guy," I say jokingly as they both crack up.
"I wonder if there would be any of the other girls from our school," Pat says.
"Beats me," After a couple of minutes, we reach the party that is just 10 minutes from my house. The loud noise booms from blocks away and the sounds of clanking glass can be heard.
"Wow this is amazing!" I stare in awe.
"Let's head in," We all went in to be met by the stench of alcohol, people grinding one another and some men around 30s loitering in the corner.
"Oh my gosh!" I was squeezed by some crazy drunk couples and another bunch of drunkards.
"Pat? Millie?" I turn right and left, searching for them. "Where'd you guys all go?"
I stayed near the walls to not be squashed by the dancers, or more like circus freaks and then saw them. They were together with the guys by the sofas and with the most meanest group from our school. How could they be there? I came up close to them and forced a smile.
"Pat, Millie." They looked at me and I realise how they look a bit drunk, with their eyes still focus though.
"Yeah," they say in unison, then looked at each other and laughed.
"What are you guys doing here, I was searching for you two everywhere," Realisation appeared on their faces and suddenly a cruel sinister smirk took over. My face pales as I never saw them looking like this before.
"Ainul, Ainul. How blind you are. Did you really think we are your friends on the first meet up we've had?" Millie says. I was stunned and deeply hurt. That can't be. They are my most closest friend. I've told them all my secrets, even those that I've never told anyone.
"If you think we were the only ones that know all your secrets, then you are so truly wrong dear," Pat says darkly as she motions to all the members of that group, with the majority of those whom bullied me. I cannot cry, no.
"Aww, are you going to cry now baby girl?" Brittany the leader of the group mocks. Please stop.
"Get the hell out of here, this place isn't for some girl like you," I back away slowly."For all the times we've been together, you were just some liar! Someone who doesn't even care of my feelings!" I cry out to them.
"Tsk, tsk. Silly girl." Millie shakes her head in disappointment. No.
"You really should never let your guard down, how easy it was for us to manipulate you." Pat laughs. Why.
"Back off now, we can't stand being near you. How we survived your talks everyday and sitting beside you was hell of a torture. I could just laugh at that face you're pulling now." Millie and Pat toss each other. I can't stand this.
I choke a sob and dash out, ignoring the heys and watch out from everyone.
I ran away from my friends I once called home.
I ran from the hatred that they had in their eyes.
And I ran from myself.---
How cruel I may be X)
What do you think of Millie and Pat?
Do you think the past has got something to do with her for the present?
Oh and sorry for the very long chapter...
