My Goodbye

6 2 1

Together we sat on a carpet

Where a three year old sat

And "quietly" listen to instruction

Standing on top of flimsy chairs

That can be too unstable and small

Even when we sit and leave us praying we don't fall

Reciting our lines perfectly when we first know them

And slowly for getting from here

With dances and songs getting better

Fooling around at least 10 minutes at a time

Sitting at a crowded table

Because we sit together or not at all

Drama occurs too often

But we all still stay close

And never lose sight of what matters

People have come and gone

We stay as long as we can

But we never want to leave

At one point we'll all leave

As I will do now

But no matter what we cannot forget

How we affected each other

The things we've been through

And the friendships we've made

I wish I could stay I really really do

But one day we will all move on from the too small chairs

And the dark green carpet that we call a "stage"

But we never forget the feeling on that stage

The feeling of flying and the feeling of joy

It's a bright loving feeling with that applause

On that stage we sing of Fame

Or ogres and beasts with girl problems

Or a lion who was once a king falling to his knees

My career here with Vouge has come to an end

But yours must be so far away

So take it embrace it

And make the world your stage
