Chapter 3: Best Day Ever

The next day I met Renee in school again. I asked her for her number and I gave her mine. I also offered to bring her home again and she agreed.

After school, I waited for her in my car. She came in and said hi, I greeted her back.

While driving, there was an awkward yet comforting silence between us. I wasn't bothered by it. And I think Renee was fine with it too. I decided to break it so I could know more about her.

' erm...so...I don't think you have much friends right? ' yea, it was a stupid question to ask. I face-palmed myself mentally.

' yea...I only have a few close friends. I don't really like attention, I prefer to be alone. Not like the 5Bs, always flirting and attention-seeking...' she looked at me ' no offence '

I mentally laughed and agreed with her ' haha, yea, I agree too. '

I dropped her off and drove away again.

While driving, I felt that Renee wasn't like any other girl. She wasn't those flirting type, she didn't like attention and she doesn't brag a lot. She has the looks and the brains.

She's just...the perfect friend for every guy...

Alvan's POV

I've not seen Renee for almost a week already...should I text her? But it'll be so awkward and it might ruin my 'reputation'...well here goes nothing...

' hey Renee, Alvan here. You wanna hang out today after school? '

' erm...okay. Meet you outside my class then '

I don't know why but I smiled at that text.

Time was moving so slowly during class today. When the bell rang, I was the first one to leave the class. I ran to her class. But I saw another guy...I think he's called Jake. What is he doing with her?

I walked towards Renee and put my arms on her shoulders, trying to give Jake a hint that Renee's mine.

' hey Renee, ready to go? '

' okay ' she took my hand off her and smiled at me.

' bye Jake, see you tomorrow ' he waved back.

I brought her to my car and we got in.

' where are we going? ' she asked

' I don't know '

' what? Fine, let's go to the library '

' library? You kidding me? I've never been there since first grade'

' you don't know what's fun Alvan '

' no, YOU don't know what's fun '

And so we had a little argument in the car, but of course I 'won' the argument.

' let's go have some real fun ' I smirked a little at her, she gave me a confused look

Renee's POV

We got to the beach. Surprisingly, there was no one there.

I ran to the water, took out my shoes and dipped my feet into the cooling water.

I just realized that...where is Alvan?

I looked around, he was nowhere to be seen.

I was starting to worry...

' Alvan? Alvan! Where are you? ' of course, no one replied. I tried calling his phone, no one answered. I continued calling out for him. ' Alvan, this is not funny! You're scaring me ' i ran to the sea. I hope he would come back to look for me.

' AHHHH!!! ' I screamed at the top of my lungs. I was soaking wet. I got pushed into the sea by someone. I immediately stood up and scanned around for the person. Wait...isn't that...Alvan?

' Alvan! You asshole!!! You better come back here! ' he chuckled and ran away. I ran after him but as you see, I was not a very healthy person. I don't run like 10 rounds around my neighbourhood. In case I didn't tell you, I'm a dancer. A very unhealthy dancer. I'm sort of talented in dancing cause I've started doing ballet at the age of 5.

Alvan laughed at me ' hahaha, you can't catch me! '

' Alvan, I'm gonna be a civilized person and not argue with an immature kid like you '

I stood there and waited for him to come back. He pretended to be like a guilty puppy and walked back slowly. He stood in front of me and pouted. ' don't think you can get away with pushing me into the water '

He suddenly smirked at me, making me scared a little.

' ohh, I'm so sorry Renee...please forgive me, I'll do anything for you to forgive me. And when I say anything, I mean anything ' he winked at me, I hit him on his arm and laughed.

' nah...I forgive you, you don't have to do anything ' I giggled.

' but I can't forgive myself, I'll do something to make up for what I did...'

'what are you gonna do? Don't do anything stupid...'

' this ' and he lunged onto me. We fell onto the white soft sand. We laughed and rolled around on the sand.

' TODAY'S THE BEST DAY EVER!!! '

' haha, I know right. Let's do this more often! '

' okay ' I smiled at him.

' well it's time to go home , I gotta do my homework '

' aww...can I stay at your house tonight? ' he winked at me and giving me his puppy eyes and pouted mouth.

' no and quit doing that, you look retarded ' I rolled my eyes ' now let's go '

' fine, you win, let's go '
