The Jackson family did not stay Sacramento, California long, where they were relocated after the events in Provo. On the third day of their new lives, a tall man reeking of cigarettes and with a fat one in his mouth knocked on their front door. Tiffany answered the call and her face fell the moment she saw him. That sense of danger and something strange that only younger children and teens have alerted her to the foul disposition of this man. However, once the door opened, it was all done. He muscled his way in and others in dark suits quickly filed in.

Homeland Security kept it quiet that they lost Brandon, Tiffany, and Kyle. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson would be forever remembered as John and Jane Doe in a small morgue in Montana. Neighbors never saw a thing. It made investigators wonder if there was indeed a true terrorist plot behind what had happened in Provo, and if those terrorists were simply cleaning up. But the investigation took a strange turn, when the highest offices in the land pulled everything related to the cases. The velociraptors disappeared, testimonies vanished, people appeared to forget, and the Q Files had their records raided. All of this Conturbatio would not know until it was too late to act.

A lot was lost, and no one knew how or why, but anyone connected to the cases were ordered to not pursue them further, under threat of a destroyed career and personal life. What people did come to know in these strange times was that an elderly, well built man now stalked the halls of the country's capital, making appearances in both the CIA and FBI headquarters. He was always accompanied by a towering man who loomed over others like a rabid guard dog on a strained chain. People chalked it up to the changed administration.

These things for the most part wet unnoticed to the public at large. In fact, just about everyone had forgotten the events in Provo by the first week in December. Public records also seemed to have disappeared for anyone who had the mind to do greater research into the matter. Trick and Naomi wouldn't forget the faces of the family they helped that Thanksgiving week, but the next time they saw Brandon, Kyle, and Tiffany, they would hardly recognize them....
