Yours, Mine, and Ours

Park Trip

First I want to apologize for the ridiculous delay. I was diagnosed with a tumor and have been in and out of the hospital for months, but I'm much better now. Not completely healed but enough to comeback and start writing again. To make up for it, I gave you guys a double whammy of uber fluff. This chapter is super long and it's not a lot of plot but we'll get there soon. I just wanted to post something light hearted. Anyways, enjoy!

"You know what next month is," Gaara said as they started walking along the sidewalk.

He shook his head and the redhead would have kicked him if Akiko wasn't in the stroller.

"Your birthday dumbass. What are you doin for it?" The blonde shrugged after scowling at the insult.

"I don't know. Probably just spend some time with Aki."

He paused at the crosswalk and put a white hat on her head so she would have too much sun exposure before tickling her belly. The toddler just squealed as the three crossed the street.

Gaara sighed. "Naruto, you should do something. You told me that you haven't gone out to just have fun since Aki's been born. And don't you dare say you haven't had the chance." He added as he saw him open his mouth.

"You have tons of people who are willing to babysit."

"You already babysit Gaara."

"Not just me. You have Iruka and Kakashi. Sakura and Ino. Hinata and Kiba. Shikamaru and Temari. Lee and Shino. Sai and Choji. And even Menma is old enough to babysit now."

Naruto gave him a look and Gaara made a face. "Okay, scratch Lee, Shino, Sai, and Choji."

Naruto sighed. "Maybe your sister but that's it. Iruka's job is year round and too hectic. Kiba and his canines scare Aki. With good reason. He doesn't let Hinata out of his sight so she won't come separately. Shikamaru doesn't know the first thing about children and Kakashi's mask sometimes scares her as much as the dogboy. Sakura and Ino would just treat her like a baby doll and snap a bunch of pictures to post on social media for likes, and Menma is too far away. Neji is too busy. Not to mention he's still a wild card. And I refuse to get a babysitter from a service."

He shuddered. "Just the idea of strangers around Aki doesn't sit well with me. The only reason I'm allowing her to go to the daycare is because I trust Iruka's decisions when it comes to children. That and I don't have another choice."

The three arrived at the park and walked over to a bench where Naruto parked the stroller and got out the small bag while Gaara got Akiko. Naruto laid out a large blanket across the grass and set her down, grabbing some toys. The best friends sat on the bench and watched the toddler start driving around the pink toy car. Both sat in silence for a while, smiling and just taking time to enjoy the beautiful day out. Naruto could feel his best friends eyes on him and sighed.

"Fine. I guess we can do something SMALL." He emphasized.

The redhead smirked triumphantly. "Since when have I ever done anything big?"

The male rolled his eyes but couldn't help but smile. He wouldn't admit it out loud but he did miss hanging out with his friends. He just missed them overall. The two made idle chatter, never taking their eyes off of the girl for more than ten seconds. They blonde laughed as he bribed the redhead into playing hand games, games with her favorite ball. They stopped playing at the sound of Aki whimpering. Naruto turned to see the teary eyed girl and picked her up, sitting her on his knee.

"Mama. Foo." To emphasize it, a growling stomach sounded right after.

Naruto smiled softly. "Are you hungry?"
