KABANATA VII: Happy Halloween!
"Jiro, my Jiro. The first time that I saw you, you were dancing your heart out and puffing smoke. Then after a few minutes, you were crying and shouting in the rain." I saw myself sleeping while Nabi is sitting beside me. She gently caressed my face.
"You were so in love with her that you broke yourself apart."
I just stood like a statue. A crying statue. In these dreams, a tear always escapes then followed by an another until I'm wheeping and catching my forsaken breath.
"I can't let that happen again. I don't want to see you so... Torned."
Then why did you left? Why did you made it happen? Why did you torned me?
"This might be the last time I say goodnight, Jiro."
Then she sang a song. She's singing ang quietly crying. It strucked me. She didn't want to leave. She had to.
"But I'm not saying goodbye, I don't want to. I'll come back. Just remember me okay?" She kisses my forehead and wipe her tears.
"Come and find me. Call me. I'll come. I'll definitely come."
"Anong susuotin mo mamaya Jiro?"
Paikot- ikot lamang si Natasha sa office ko. Kinakalikot ang mga libro ko. "I'll wear whatever Sec. Alfonso gives me."
"Well, I'll wear my Alice costume!" Pumunta siya sa harapan ko. "And you, you can be my Mad Hatter!" Sabi niya habang dinuduro ako. Not interested.
"I'll think about it."
I twirled my swivel chair at hinarap ang bintana. Agad ko namang naramdaman ang presensya ni Natasha saaking gilid. "I was shy asking you this but I saw you a few days ago."
"You see me everyday, Natasha." Sabi ko at umirap. Every morning nandito siya. Sometimes, she brings lunch and believe me, her cooking is not getting better.
"No, what I mean is that your car was at the bay. Anong ginagawa mo doon?" Tumawa ako ng mahina dahil sa pagtaas ng boses niya. Why is she acting like she owns me?
