I was sitting still on the couch. Fidgeting if I should go home now. "Salmara and I were together since we were born. We're bestfriends." Victor stated. Bakit niya 'toh sinasabi? Do I care?
"Really?" I scoffed. I heard him chuckled, scratching his head. "But why did you guys broke up?" I was just dead curious. Kung sila na nung simula pa lang, bakit sila nagkahiwalay?
"Well, Salmara wanted to. She said she's sick of me. Right ba---"
"Hoy! Itikom mo nga 'yung bibig mo!" Sigaw ni Salmara mula sa kusina. Nag- hahanda kasi siya ng meryenda.
"Heh. But, we stil remained close." He grinned. I remained quiet, I'm not interested.
Inilapag ni Salmara ang pagkain sa center table at nagsimula na kaming kumain. Kinain ko 'yung ensaymada at uminom ng ice tea. Si Salmara naman ay umiinom ng chocolate milk.
"You really love chocolate milk." Victor chuckled. Mahilig siya sa chocolate milk? "Bleh." Bumelat na lamang si Salmara sa kanya.
Biglang tumunog ang telepono. "Ikaw na, sumagot. Sabagay malapit naman sayo ang telepono." Ani ni Salmara at pinagpatuloy ang pag- inom. Nagbuntong- hininga si Victor at tumayo. Sinagot niya na ito. "Hello?" Tumungo ito ng tumungo.
"Tita! Si Victor po 'toh!...Si Salmara po? Nasa kusina po... Ah, opo. Kakadating ko lang po galing Aklan... Po? Dinner? Okay po... Fianceé?... Hahaha, sige po... See you po tita Clement."
Kumunot ang noo ni Salmara, probably curious also. Binaba ni Victor ang telepono at ngumisi saamin. Why is he smiling? "Tita Clement asked us to have dinner with them. Welcoming me of course." He arrogantly chuckled. So Victor is also close with Tita Clement and Tito Dether?
"I guess I should also get going now." Tumayo ako at akmang pumunta na si pintuan.
"Salmara and I, should go also. Including Salmara's lucky fianceé." Fianceé? Ako?
Victor chuckled, "I didn't thought that 'My Bride' act was all real after all." So I'm going with them?
"Oh sige na. Umalis na tayo." Pang- gigitna ni Salmara.
