Chapter 2- The Mystery City.. And a Friend!

New York City was a fascinating place, busy streets, honking taxis', but I did not process any of these noises well through my data base. I rubbed my head, feeling multiple cracks and circuits. I felt awful. I tried to get up but my body felt wobbly and weird, I just fell back down. I haven't given up yet and got up again. I tried to scan the area but failed through the process.
"w-wh-... where am I?" I questioned, not knowing any significant detail of where I was. I started walking onto the road until I saw a car driving right at me. I jumped and thought I was history, I covered my screen but thankfully the car stopped. A middle aged man stuck his head out of his window and yelled.
"EY! GET OFF DA ROAD WILL YA?? Jeez!" he scoffed and got his head back in his car. I looked at his vehicle and thought it was my kind.
"Um, excuse me, sir? Do you know where I am?"
"Your in New York City! Now get some clothes on and get off da road bozo!" He shouted. I got scared and nodded, running out of there.
"I-I-its ok.. I can get used to this p-p-p-place" I glitched, I was so nervous that I kept accidentally bumping into people, I apologized to them but they only gave me a dirty look. From the looks of it now, I don't think I'll get used to this place. But to be honest the place was absolutely marvelous! Such beautiful screens! Beautiful lights! Such tall.. buildings?... yea! Buildings! I just could not keep my screen off the beauty. I kept looking up until I bumped into another citizen. An explanation point pops up on my screen.
"I-I-I-I'm so s-s-sorry citizen!" I glitched once more. The citizen turned around to look at me.
"It's fi-.... woah... are you a-... robot?" the citizen asked. From without my scanning, he had brown hair with some blond streaks. He had tanned skin and brown eyes, he also had a necklace around his neck made from dark wood.
"e-e-errr.. y-y-yes? I'm not sure what your asking, to be honest I don't know what I am"
"Oh.. jeez.. you look beaten up"
"I do?" I look at my hands and legs.
"Oh shoot, I do!" I start to panic.
"Hey hey! Calm down! You don't have to panic! You'll make your circuits more damaged!"
I didn't question him of his knowledge of how my body works but I slowly calmed down and looked at him.
"S-s-s-sorry citizen..."
"Don't be sorry.. oh and by the way.. names Jaxon" he had his hand out for me to shake. I looked at it confused, not sure on what to do. I look at him and look back at his hand. I look back at him and a question mark appears on my screen.
"Oh.. you don't know what a handshake is?"
I shake my head no.
"Here, let me show you" he shakes my hand. I get all excited and shakes his hand back.
"What's your name?"
I stop getting excited and start thinking, when I started thinking my head started steaming. Jaxon just looked worried and scared.
"Ya know... I don't remember that either!" My screen glitched.
"Jeez you must be really broken.. hmmmm.. hey, wanna come over to my house? I study robotics so I think I could help you out"
"W-w-wait... You mean it?!?"
"Of course, I mean, I got nothing better to do, might as we-" I interrupt him with a hug.. it was actually.. more of stopping must of the circulation in his body than a hug.
"Wow" he tries to gasp for air
"You know what a hug is huh?"
"Yea! I saw two citizens doing it! I'll just name it an appreciation for you being my new friend!"
"Aww, heh, nice to hear, well we better get going. My apartment isn't far from here" he smiles and leads me there. I already made a new friend! How exciting! Jaxon leads me to the apartment and opens the door. I look at the door in amazement. I show a clip of a guy saying "wow!". Jaxon looks back at me and tilts his head.
"Fascinated, huh?"
I nod. We both walk to an elevator, he presses he button and the doors open.
"Woah!! These doors can open by themselves??"
"Yea! Cool right?" He said sarcastically but in a funny way. I nod once more and he chuckles.
"Your an interesting robot, you know that?"
I tilt my head, not knowing what he meant but went with it anyway. The doors closed and he pressed a button that says 12. I look around. Shoot I wish I could scan the place, then I wouldn't have been so clueless! The elevator went up and there was a nice tune playing. My foot tapped to it a bit. Once we got there, the doors opened.
"Oooooo" I said. Jaxon lead me to his apartment and opened the door. The place looked awesome! Small. But awesome! The first thing I saw was the living room with a green couch, the floors were made from dark wood just like Jaxon's... thing that hanged from his neck?.. I forgot. There were a lot of pictures framed everywhere but then I saw two rooms down the hallway. It was one room for the bathroom and one for I think was his bedroom. In the corner of the living room was his office, I could tell cause it had his little machines he makes and his gear parts, also ALOT of planning up on the walls.
"This place looks a-a-amazing!" I said. Jaxon smiled.
"Glad you like it, it's not much but you get used to it after a while, now let's get you fixed up"
I looked at him and a smile appeared on my screen. At this moment I knew we were gonna be best buds!
