__________

Music beating at the drums of your ears as you strolled along the sidewalk, cars passing by as you reminisced of the memories born from these streets. The tangled wires of your ear buds were unraveled by your quick, however greatly inefficient fingers. You nearly forgot how to navigate through the neighborhood and to your destination, taking a look at the map displayed against your phone as you remained unsure of every turn you took. Back hunched over your device, eyes pressed against the screen, as if that would help you understand the route better.

The call of your name was heard. Your eyes floated up from the gadget as the quickened footsteps in front of you began to run. "You're finally here!" the woman wrapped her arms around you, practically throwing herself against your structure. The tug at the corner of your lips was uncontrollable, and you couldn't help but to grin. "Hurry let's go inside." she rushed, slinging an arm over your shoulders as she led you to her home.

You smiled as you glanced over at her, fluffy hairs lightly bouncing at each anticipating step. Round, rosy cheeks raising from a grin of her own, decorating her painted lips. Crescented eyes holding pure excitement, with a sheen, glistening layer of ecstacy glossing over them, all of which was induced by your company.

She hurriedly unlocked the door of her home, apologetically mumbling of the messy house you were about to enter. Kicking off her sneakers as she welcomed you inside, before offering you a glass of water, she was already jogging into the kitchen.

"Dawon, calm down," you giggled lightly over your friend's giddiness, a feeling she couldn't contain all too well now that you had finally visited her after the endless, aching, labouring months she had to attend university. Which was soon to be your fate, hoping you'd be in the same building as her in a few more months. You waddled into the kitchen behind her, hugging yourself to warm your arms from the bite of the chilly home. You immediately noticed the little knick-knacks they had moved around, repositioning the seats in the living room beside you, redecorating a little.

"Aw! Look at you!" she squealed, balled fists cutely shaking as they hovered over her chest. Her fingers then pinched at your cheeks as she neared closer to you, distracting herself from getting you a drink. Your own hands pushing her away as a sharp burn of pain settled upon your face from her friendly assault. She questioned whether you'd been eating well, sweeping a gaze from your head to your toes, noticing a slimming in your features. You pouted as you rubbed your cheeks, attempting to assuage the tingling, red, patch marking your skin.

"I've been eating a lot, I don't know what makes you think that," you mumbled, hurriedly answering the question as you took a seat on the couch. Watching her struggle to prepare you a cup of ice water, frozen cubes falling from the door of the fridge to shatter wet shards, gliding across the floor as she chased them with a towel.

The girl hummed excitedly as she made her way towards you, slamming the glass down on the little black coffee table in front of you. Nearly startling you as she collapsed on your side, cheekily giggling as she whispered into the shell of your ear. "I have a surprise for you." you followed her expression, smiling as well as she kicked herself up from the couch, skipping away. "C'mon!" she urged with a hand, disappearing from your sight and shuffling behind the wall of the living room.
