Ryan pulled his phone out of his pocket, silencing it so that it wouldn't go off during the movie. He sat in his seat, the man in front of him was quite tall, tall enough so that he was debating whether or not to move, I'll move, he decided. He stood up, leaving his seat and walking back a couple rows to a seat with no one next to him. The theatre was practically empty, the movie wouldn't start for another ten minutes, so most people were just avoiding the previews. Ryan didn't mind the previews, he was only at the movies because his friend Spencer had asked him to go. Spencer had cancelled last minute after Ryan's ticket had already been purchased, so here he was, Alone at the movie theatre, how pathetic. He yawned and looked around, getting an idea of what the crowd would be like. There was mostly teenagers spread throughout the theatre, and a few adults here and there. More people were showing up, he hadn't even bothered asking his friend what movie they were seeing, just went along with it because it meant he would get in for free. He looked to the door and a certain person caught his eye. What the hell? He squinted his eyes, trying to see if who he saw was really the person he thought.
Brendon Urie. The famous vocalist for his favorite band, Ryan tried not to stare, because he didn't want to be rude, but it was kind of difficult when his idol was standing less than twenty feet away from him. Ryan sat still and silent as the man walked up the stairs past rows of seats. It looked like he was alone, which Ryan didn't really understand. Shouldn't famous people have body guards around to make sure no one kidnaps them? Ryan would have gladly kidnapped his idol, since he was a shameless fanboy of the man, and had a not-so-secret celebrity crush on him. Brendon walked up the steps until he reached the row where Ryan was sitting. He walked down the row of seats and pulled his sunglasses off from over his eyes. Ryan looked up, right into his eyes and stared, he was in s state of shock. He watched as Brendon's lips parted and moved, creating words that Ryan didn't hear. Ryan just watched the man hovering mere inches above him in awe. He was star struck as fuck. Brendon cleared his throat, bringing Ryan back to reality.
"Huh?" Ryan asked, dumbfounded and lost in the moment. Was his favorite person of all time actually speaking directly to him?
"I asked if this seat was taken," the man said again, smiling at Ryan, who most likely looked very terrified. He gestured to the seat directly next to Ryan, and Ryan shook his head. He looked away from the man, down at his feet. Since the previews were still running, and the movie wasn't starting yet, Ryan pulled out his cell phone. He opened up the text messages to Spencer, who was also a major fan of Brendon Urie. He typed out a message to Spencer, glancing at the man next to him to be sure he didn't see what he typed.
Ryan: Oh my fucking god Brendon Urie just walked into the movie theatre alone and sat next to ME!
Spencer: No way, u r a little liar and u r just sad that I didn't come with u haha
Ryan: Fine, I'll just send you a picture
Ryan proceeded to tilt his phone at the perfect angle to get a clear shot of Brendon, who had also began to go on his own phone. Ryan made it as subtle as he could that he was taking a picture of the man, but his cover was blown when he realized he had left the flash on.
"Shit shit shit," Ryan muttered as he struggled to cover the light on his phone camera. He had already caught Brendon's attention, and was given a strange look.
"If you wanted a picture you could have just asked," he sighed, smiling at the young boy next to him.
"I- uh, I'm sorry, sir-" he stuttered, trying to keep his cool, although his favorite human being in the entire universe was speaking to HIM!
"It's okay, and by the way you can just call me Brendon," he chuckled, causing Ryan to nervously laugh with him, "so, you want a picture?"
"Uh huh," Ryan nodded awkwardly and handed Brendon his cell phone. Brendon smiled into the phone-camera lense and Ryan did as well, snapping a picture on Ryan's Snapchat profile. Ryan quickly saved the photo and sent it to Spencer, just as the lights in the theatre began to dim, signaling the start of the movie. Ryan was hardly able to focus on the screen in front of him with the incredibly attractive, famous, perfect man sitting beside him. He spent most of the movie watching Brendon eat popcorn and gasp at certain parts of the film rather than focusing on the plot of the movie like a normal human being. He only started to watch towards the middle of the movie. By then, he had somehow become used to the fact that Brendon Urie was actually sitting right next to him, and luckily that was the part of the movie that had jump scares. Ryan was never bothered by jump scares, and just rested his arms on the arm rests of the movie theatre seats, watching the screen with curiosity. At the first jump scare, he saw Brendon flinch beside him, and let out a quiet giggle, only soft enough for himself to hear. Once the second jump scare had passed, he felt a hand hovering over his own on the shared arm rest of the movie theatre chairs. By the final jump scare of the scene, Brendon was gripping Ryan's hand in his own out of fear, without even noticing what he was doing. Ryan just let it happen, waiting until the movie was over to even let Brendon notice.
