Chapter 1

"The best things in life are the unexpected, because there were no expectations"

"Sophia Halley, next to Ashton Rivers, last row", Mrs Southway ordered, "Now." She repetead angrily when she saw us stay immobils on our original seats. Great. Last row with Ashton Chester. I internally groaned, and slowly walked towards my new seat. In other words, hell.

I should probably introduce myself first. My name is Sophia, and I am like any other regular teenage girl. People call me a nerd, and I guess I am.

I heard Ashton sit next to me angrily, mumbling words under his breath. He was probably talking how a big looser I was, and how unlucky for him to sit next me. I heard Meredith Sawyer,one of his many admirers, snigger, and I noticed my face heat up quickly.

The teacher continued with her boring talk, and I tried not to think about Ashton.

"...his name is August Blake. He's from Spain, but he has lived here for quite some time now, and knows

perfect english" Mrs Sourhway assured us. "Come here, August"

The boy sitting infront of me sat up and walked towards the front of the class.

He talked perfectly, but I could notice his Spanish accent.

"I'm August. I've lived here for two years now, but I'm originally from Barcelona"

August had black, short hair and piercing blue eyes. When he smiled, he showed a line of perfect white teeth and cute dimples. Every girl in the class looked at him awed. I chuckled under my breath, and he looked at me and winked. My face heated up again, and I frowned.

"Who would like to help August around school?" asked Mrs Southway, with a fake smile on her face.

A dozen eager hands shot up, obviously all girls, batting their eyelashes, trying to get his attention.

"Choose anyone August, quick", said Mrs Southway, as the bell rang. Everyone started to pack their stuff for next period, but I stayed sit, looking at August.

"You", he said finally, pointing at me.
