Brittany Hills Chronicles: Act 2

Antwan 5

I was laying in bed having trouble sleeping like I have been since Terron went missing, I felt guilty as fuck sleeping while Terron was out there somewhere.... so when Tay called me and told me they found Terron and he was at the hospital and jumped out of bed, threw on whatever I could grabbed and ran out the house without locking the door and sped all the way to Brittany Hills to pick up Tay, Valentino, and Jace then broke about fifty law speeding to the hospital. When we got there I ran past Black and his friends who were having a quiet argument with that dude Smoke, I didn't care about any of that though all I cared about was getting to my dude. I ran through the hospital and found Dejon standing outside a room with Big Mike, Big John, Devin Cunningham, and a couple police officers and tried to run to the door behind them but Dejon stopped me and pulled me away. Normally me and Dejon got along but I had no problem knocking his ass out if it meant I got to see Terron, he pulled me over to the side and everyone else followed behind us trying to find out what happened.

"They got him sedated.... they're not letting anyone in...... but he'll survive, I just wish I had gotten to him sooner..... look I appreciate you coming up here but it's pointless for you to stay up here because there's no telling how long he'll be out." Dejon said and I stood there staring at him.

"If you need me I'll be right there in that chair....." I said walking off and sitting in the corner of the room if he thought I was leaving he had me fucked up. I sat in the corner of the room for about five minutes before Jace and Tay walked over to me, mainly I drown their conversation out honestly, I couldn't focus on anything other than the door.... Terron was so close but I couldn't get to him.

"Does this mean we don't have to go to school tomorrow?" Jace asked popping his gum. "I mean Rondell is going to be here for a while and I don't plan on leaving so..... yeah." Jace said and I shrugged it wasn't my decision to make him go to school or not but I knew I wasn't leaving until the day Terron was released.

"Have y'all talked to Carter?" I asked checking my phone, he probably found out way before I did and when I found out I sent a text to everyone in the house telling them I was on my way but when I got there Carter never came out and I wasn't waiting for him. "I've been texting him since you called me but he still hasn't responded."

"He had something to take care of with his baby mom but he said he'd be up here whenever he was done..... I really don't feel comfortable leaving Carter by himself, given everything that's happened.... then again I've seen Bianca's dad and that nigga is massive so Carter should be good." Tay said.

"Ayy Antwan let me holla at you for a second......" Black said walking over with Breion and Mookie. I got up and followed him over to the vending machines and I could see the fire in his eyes, he was pissed and he had the same murderous gleam in his eyes that Dejon and Tay had. "Look before you flip hear me out.... I think you should head home, not because I don't want you here or anything like that but I can see the look in your eyes.... and I know that when you see him.... you're going to be pissed I think you should go home and take them niggas with you, get some sleep and come back in the morning with a clear head.... there are too many people here that are pissed and I don't want no shyt poppin off over high emotions." Black said and it took me a millisecond to come up with my answer.

"If you need me I'll be right there in that chair....." I said walking back to my seat, why were they under the impression that I was going to leave? If they were going to be here then so was I........ as we sat there talking Tay and Valentino went to check on Josiah who was doing way better than Terron and he would probably be released in a couple days.

As I sat there everybody and their mom was calling trying to figure out what was going on, dudes from the basketball team, my bro Zyn, half the school, even a few teachers it got so bad I put my phone on silent. I walked to the room where Josiah was being kept and stood by the door as Josiah talked to Tay and Valentino..... the shyt he was saying brought tears to my eyes and I began to feel guilty that I couldn't protect my dude.... why didn't I come and pick him up? Why did I have to let him convince me to stay home when I should've hopped in my car the second he told me what happened between him and Carter?

"I can't hear this shyt....." Tay said getting up and walking out the room.

"You need anything Josiah?" Valentino asked looking down at the ground.

"Nah I'm good.... but can I talk to Antwan alone?" Josiah asked and Valentino got up, I walked over to the chair that Valentino had just vacated and sat down. "The whole time we were down there you were the one thing that Ron clung to.... you were the thing that kept him going, he really loves you.... so through this whole process you gotta stay by his side because he's going to need you." Josiah said quietly, he didn't know it but he was making me feel worse. Thankfully, the doctor came in which gave me a reason to leave, I walked back out into the lobby and tried to call Carter again but got sent straight to voicemail.... this dude was really starting to piss me off, like I get that he was taking care of some stuff with his baby mom but he could at least answer his phone.

"Bruh..... you walked in at the end, the shyt they went through..... just hearing it makes me wanna kill someone. RonRon and Josiah went through hell but I can't dwell on it all that matters now is that is that they're safe." Tay said wiping his eyes.

"Bro I gotta see him..... like even though everyone is telling me that he's going to be alright, I can't believe it until I see him for myself." I said as my phone started ringing. "It's my mom I gotta take this..... yes?" I asked walking a little bit away from Tay.

"Antwan where are you? You left the door unlocked and I.... I was worried when you weren't in your room." My mom said.

"I'm sorry.... I was rushing out the house...... I'm at the hospital and......" My mom started screaming in my ear at the mention of the word hospital and I should've known she would overreact without hearing the entire story. "Mom chill... I'm fine, they found Ronnie and I came up here to see him." I said and I could feel her entire mood shift.

"Oh okay..... well give Ronnie my blessings and I'll see you when I get back from this trip. Love you." My mom said hanging up and I shook my head, once again she was home for about an hour before she left right out again.... whatever, I walked back over to my chair and sat down Tay, Valentino, and Jace were all arguing quietly and about ten percent of my brain was wondering what that was all about but the other was focused on the door.

"Ayy y'all hungry?" Devin said walking over to us and I could tell he was furious, like every muscle in his jaw was showing and his fist were clenched in his pocket. "I'm about to order a pizza or something since y'all made it clear y'all weren't leaving."

"Can I see him?" I asked looking him in his eyes. "Look.... I just need to see him, imagine if you were in my shoes... wouldn't you do everything you could to see your dude?" I asked and I thought I crossed a line until Devin's face relaxed.

"Aight let me see what I can do....." Devin said walking off and coming back a few minutes later. "They said only three of y'all can go in, I think it's only fair that Black is one of those three, as well as Antwan and..... whichever one of y'all want to go in."Devin said looking at Dejon, Tay, Valentino, and Jace.

"I can't do it.... I can't see him like that." Tay said shaking his head. "It should be Dejon, he's known RonRon the longest and.... it only make sense." Tay said and once no one protested the decision me and Dejon walked over to Black before going into Terron's room.........

We walked into the room and my blood began to boil... Terron was super skinny, his face was bruised, sunken with he had a few cuts on his lips and above his eyes and his ankle was wrapped in bandages. I stood by the door watching his every breath..... I was afraid to move closer to him. Dejon started talking to Ronnie quietly while Black stood in the corner of the room watching..... I didn't realize that I had been crying until Dejon walked over and pulled me into a brotherly hug.... I was pissed about what happened to his but I was more relieved that he was okay, now came the hard part which was helping him get past this horrible experience but he had a good support system and as long as I had air in my lungs I was going to stick by his side..................
