Our heroine
A/n: I should probably mention that this is set in medieval times, with a few tweaks.
Previously;
"No, I don't think you get it." I say whilst taking my helmet off, to reveal....a feminine elfish face with bright green eyes, and a petite button nose. My waist length auburn hair swings free from its prison- my helmet- to cascade gently down my back.
"Oh." Gasps the princess.
"This is why you can't love me. It's just not right."
"I don't care. Anyway there is something you don't know about me." She says whilst reaching for the lace tying up her dress.
"Whoa! Woah! What are you doing!?" I shout whilst reaching for her hands to stop her.
"I was just gonna show you-"
"Why would you want to show me that!"
"No, I was gonna-"
"Let's just stop talking about this." I cut her off, as I head towards the door and my waiting transportation.
Sigh "fine, lead onwards." She replies, whilst clinging to my arm.Once outside, she finally notices my horse, who was patiently standing near some trees, to the left of us.
Her face immediately pales when she sees it. "No. No. No. I am not riding on that thing."
"Why not?"
"Because, they are vile, ruthless beasts."
"Vile, ruthless beasts?"
"Yes, whenever I get near one they show their true colours."
"To me it sounds like you're just scared of them."
"..."
"Wait. Are you actually scared of horses?"
"...no..."
"Really?"
"Yes! Alright I'm terrified of them."
"Why?"
"When I was little I loved them, but one day when I went out on my favourite mare, she suddenly reared up and threw me from her back, I ended up breaking a few ribs. I've been terrified of horses ever since." Her voice portrays the terror she has towards them.
"Well my horse, Starfire, won't do that he's a kind natured creature." I soothingly say, as I grasp her hand and slowly walk over to Starfire. I hold her hand up so that it was a few inches away from his nose. She was shaking, obviously afraid of him. Slowly he takes a step forward and buts his nose into her palm. After a while her body stiffly relaxes and she gains enough confidence to carefully stoke him, as I let go of her hand.
After a few moments I mount up onto Starfire, and reach my hand out for the princess to grab hold of. She tentatively puts her hand in my grasp, allowing me to swing her up behind me.
"There is a witch in the village I live in, she might be able to help us with our little predicament."
"What's so wrong with me liking you?"
"I'm not into girls, and aren't you worried about what your father would do once he learnt about this?"
"Not really, no."
"Let's get going then." I say as I nudge Starfire into a gentle gallop in the direction towards home.
