I woke up with my back aching I rolled to my side trying to wrap myself up with my wings but it still wasn't good enough.

I look up to see the sun shining through the little window so I scurry over to the light and sit there enjoying the suns warmth
Until I hear the door and I mentally sigh in distaste

"Get up..!" A small voice squeaks,
I turn to see a young boy with beautiful pure white wings next to the guard from yesterday

Ugh him again if I could scratch that ugly scowl off his face it would make him look a little more decent

I roll my eyes but do what the child says and I extend my wings wide to show how much bigger I am.
His eyes light up as he looks at my unique wings and slowly walks forward to touch them but the b*ch

Haha that is the perfect name for this guy

Roughly pulls the boy back and scowls at him. Out of no where I surprised myself the man and boy when I growl at him when he goes to lay a hand on the child.

"So you're a softy for kids huh?" The b*ch says with a ugly smirk as he purposely puts a firm hand on the boys shoulder as he grimaced in pain from the weight.

"You're to rough on the boy" I say coldly
" so what its not my fault he was a late bloomer with his wings making his family abandon him" he growled and looked at the boy in disgust

The child hung his head low and you could hear faint sniffles
I crouched down with my arms open
"Come here little one" in a second he was in my arms hugging me as I put a protective wing around him shielding him form the b*ch

"Elliot COME HERE NOW!!!" The man screamed

So the boys name is Elliot it suits him

I growl at the man and put as much venom into my words as possible
"He isn't going anywhere!" I growl

The mans eyes widen in fear but he quickly covers it up and slams the door but this time I heard no lock

They broke the door slamming it so much...

I pet the boys head and coo soothing words to stop his tears
He pulled back rubbing his puffy eyes, thats when I took a good look at him he had brown curly hair with bright blue eyes and tan soft skin

"How old are you Elliot" I asked sweetly

"Im 7" he squeaked cutely I smiles
"Are you hungry" I asked and he nodded his head while whipping his curls out of his face
"Here" I handed him the tray I was given for breakfast that I didn't eat

He looks like he needs it more anyways

He smiled brightly at the contents on the tray, there was a small stack of pancakes and a fruit bowl

He sat down in the middle of my crossed legs and happily munched on the food while humming a little song

"Whatcha humming there" I asked and he smiled up at me
"Its a song I made up wanna hear it" he asked sweetly

"Sure" I said and listen as he started to sing

Hello hello is anybody out there
Because I don't hear a sound

Alone alone I don't really know where the world is but I'm missing out

Im out on the edge and I'm screaming my name like a fool at the top of my lungs

Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright but its never enough

Echo echo..
He hums some more

Its the only friend I have

I didn't realize I was crying till he whipped a stray tear off my cheek

"Its ok to cry" he says softly "I'm here for you don't worry" he says while trying to wrap his tiny arms around me

This poor boy has been through so much and yet he still is so cheerful

I hug him protectively and I softly say to him "you should get some rest heres and old pillows and blanket I found in the corner"

He doesn't argue and snuggles up to the dirty pillow and blanket and he falls fast asleep.

Thats when I get up and look around for the bobby pin that was somewhere in my mane of hair until I find it

I quickly get the chains off of my hands and ankles.

Ive been doing that for about two days to try and find a way out.
I put the bobby pin back in my hair and tip toe to the cracked door

I slowly open it and look into the dark hallway I was about to make a made dash before I heard Elliots soft snores

I turned around to look at him

I can't leave him

I walk back to him and slowly pick him up and wrap him in the blanket as he stirs awake

" what's going on" he asks sleepily
"We're getting out of here" I say softly and his eyes light up with happiness

"You have to be quiet tho ok?" I ask and he nods his head filled with unknown energy

I slowly walk out of the room into the hallway as I follow to where it is leading me
It finally brings us to a door, I twist the handle as it slowly creeks open and what I see takes my breath away

The woods I walk out holding Elliot tightly and before I know it theres a loud bang next to my ear I scream and instinct kicks in and my wings snapped open as I take to the sky holding Elliot close to me
A loud ringing noise is in my left ear as fly

I fly faster as I hear more bangs and the a sharp pain hits my wings that I almost loose  flight
I grit my teeth and keep pumping my wings to go faster as I hear flappy behind me.

I feel something wet on my shirt
As I look down see Elliot crying and shaking while watching my injured wing try to keep us up and pump us faster

I keep flying as I hear the flapping behind us slowly go away I keep flying a couple more miles before I land in the middle of a clearing surrounded by trees I quickly run to cover and rest up against a large tree clutching Elliot like my life depended on it

I hold him away from me as I survey him for any wounds and then I look at his puffy eyes and sigh as I see he's ok

I slowly hold him close to me rapping my wings and the blanket around him
"Thank god your ok" I whisper

"But what about you" he asks with a soft yet sad voice has he looks at my now bleeding wing leaving my feathers stained in its path

"I'll be ok now rest I know your tired after all that" I say softly as I cradle him close to me

"Ok....what's your name?" He asks sleepily holding my shirt tightly

"It's Nicole but he can call me whatever you want" I say while rocking my arms

"I'll call you momma..." he says before drifting off

I smile to myself

Momma sounds perfect.....
