Scared

the voices in your head

the monster under your bed

the shadows on your wall

the noises coming from the hall

the gunshot coming from the house next door

the shattering of glass

the branches scratching your window

the scream coming from the yard

the tree that falls

the thunder that booms

the woman that shrieks

the man who sadistically laughs

the spider crawling on your leg

the cat hissing at you

the dog barking angrily

the squawking of a bird

sweat falls down your head

you start to breath heavily

your heart beats like a drum

you are frozen to your bed

you cannot move

insomnia sets in

you scream but nothing comes from your mouth

you wish for it to end, but it doesn't

nobody is here to comfort you

you are all alone

just when you just can't take it anymore

you are comforted

the sun is rising

shining brightly through your window

the fear is no longer there, you are at peace.
