I HAD IT

Water drops dance on the windowpane
As I drew my fingers around them
Outside the whole city shimmered with lights
But on the inside
Darkness hugged me
Clinging to my skin
People get scared of it
Wondering they might notice the demons
It carried within itself
And now you must ask
Why is she sitting around like this
Instead of running away?
But let me tell you darling
It doesn't scare me anymore
Cause when I cried and I died
And suffered all of the world's beatings
And when there was no human
It stood there beside me
Listening to all the cries I had
When I lost all hope,
It glowed around me
And when I told about the scars
It darkened around me
And no, it doesn't give you eyes full of pity
Or the human batterings from the distance
It just stands there
And listen to all your blames
Cause once it had suffered through the same
It once too had lights as the day
But the older it got,
The more the world took away
All the hopes and the meaning of life
People named and kicked it around
Thinking it was granted
And that everything would be forevermore
But forever is a lie, dear
And so it lost all its hopes
And came to live at night
I went through that
And it went through that
And now we lay here
In each other's arms all night long
I felt it striking my cheek as a lover
But still not giving up as a friend
So we lay here as shit passes through
But I know one thing:
I did not lose my hope
Because I had it
