SOMEONE's POV:

The sound of the wind chime indicates that they have a new customer arrived at their cozy and homey restaurant. An audible gasp and noise from her co-workers were heard so she lift her gaze at the commotion. Her eyes landed at the scene in front of her, a girl whose hands link at the other person's hands. She wandered her gaze at the owner of those hands and suddenly, the erratic beat of her heart increased as it falls into him.

"O to the M and G. Is that the famous CEO of the Altamarra Company?"

"Yes. The rumors are correct, he's beyond perfect. That masculine body to die for and a handsome face. What a sight !"

"Isn't that a model in the featured magazine? Are they dating?"

"Shit sister. Oxygen please."

Napahinto siya mula sa pag serve ng mga orders ng makita siya. Naestatwa siya at may bikig sa lalamunan na nakatingin dito.

Out of all the people. Why him? That guy who broke her heart and left her with unsaid explanations.

Absentmindedly, she bit her lips to prevent from saying things that could be gone bad. She caught her breath as they passed beside her hand to hand, animatedly talk to each other. He just walked straight ahead without looking at her, seems like he didn't really know her at all. Then it all clears to her now that she's just nothing compared to the girl he's been with him today.
 

It's been what? Five years had passed since she last saw him and the pain is still visible and fresh like it only happened yesterday. She heaved a sigh and take a small shaky steps towards on their table.
 

Okay, Kia. Inhale. Exhale. You can do this. Nakaya mo ngang mamuhay ng wala siya, ito pa kayang araw na ito? Show him what you've got, that you're strong enough without him.
 

Pero nakailang hakbang pa lang siya ng mag-angat ito ng tingin at agad nagtama ang mga mata nila. Her brown eyes match with his dark eyes. Shit. Shivered run down on her spine as she held her gaze with him. Recognition flashed on his eyes together with a mixed emotions she don't understand. What was that?

Hurt? Sadness? Longing, ... Love ? Then within a split second it turns into blank?
She closed her eyes for a bit and tried to calm her nerves.

Composure Saskia ! Don't let him see your weakness. Don't cry, damn!
 

"You okay, Kia?"

Napalingon siya sa lalaking nagsalita sa gilid niya. It was none other than her manager, Leo.

"Ah, y-yes sir."

"Are you sure? You look pale, you can rest for a while at the back door. I'll have Marco to ask for their orders. After all, you've done a great job today. You can go now."

"Okay. T-thank you, sir. I'll go ahead."

She take one glance at their direction and and saw him looking at her. Betrayal was clearly written all over his eyes. Anger rose inside her chest. How dare him to act just like that! This inconsiderate jerk. Parang ipinamukha pa nito na siya pa ang may kasalanan dito. Hindi siya ang nang-iwan. In fact, hinanap pa niya ito. Kasalanan ba niyang hindi siya nito pinakinggan? Kasalanan ba niyang hindi niya naitama ang akala nitong totoo ay kasinungalingan lang pala?

She turn around eager to fled from that suffocating situation. As she walked away from him, thousand of memories flashed like a rushed flood inside her brain. Those times whenever she stared at his eyes that said something and how naive of her to believed all of those things. That's why back then, she ended to fall into his trap, his own card. For him, it was a game after all. But not now anymore. She'll make sure that his existence have nothing to with her anymore.

She plastered a weak smile as her tears started to fall rapidly. She then remembered that day. How they meet at that place, how they were just the two of them and how one afternoon turns into a fateful day for her.

FIVE YEARS AGO ... (At Kingsville Academy)

"All students please proceed to the gymnasium for further announcement. I repeat, all students please proceed to the gymnasium for further announcement. Thank you."

"Psst, Kia. Saan ka naman pupunta? Hindi mo ba narinig and announcement? Ikaw talaga, napakapasaway mo." ani ng kaibigan niyang si Liz.

Napasimangot naman ang dalaga sa tinuran ng kaibigan. "Dun lang ako sa may park magpapahangin."

Nakita niya kasi kanina sa paglilibot nila na may munting park ang naturang skwelahan. Kung kaya't naisipan niyang dun magpahangin pansamantala. Ayaw niya kasi sa mataong lugar gaya ng Gym kaya todo iwas siya ngayon.

"Bahala ka basta text mo ako ha para sabay na tayong pupunta sa dorm mamaya."

She just nod and walk towards that said mini park. Napangiti siya nang makarating siya dun. Tama nga ang hinala niya na maganda ang naturang lugar. Nakakarelax sa pakiramdam. Bale new student sila ng kaibigan niya at kanina lang sila nailipat sa may dorm dito sa school. Kanina palang ang unang pasukan sa skwelahan at since may free time sila ay naglibot-libot muna para maging kabisado sa lugar.

May nakita siyang puno sa may dulo kaya agad niya itong pinuntahan upang makisilong. Nang makaupo ay napatanaw siya sa may kalangitan. Ang ganda ng kulay ng langit. Payapa sa pakiramdam, ito yung hinahanap niya na minsan di niya mahanap sa bahay nila. Napabuntong-hininga siya ng mabalik tanaw kung bakit naisipan niyang lumipat sa ibang skwelahan kahit patapos na sana siya sa kolehiyo.

She think of those happiest times when she's with her family. Those days that even they have a problem, they can still enjoyed and smiled like nothing happens. But all happiness may come at end. Dahil sa umpisa pa lang may lamat na ang lahat.

When she came home after school, she heard the fights of her parents and accidentally saw how her father badly mistreated her mother. That's the first time she ever saw what kind of a man he is. At nasundan pa yun ng iba't ibang scenario gaya ng nahuli niya itong may katalik sa sariling pamamahay. She cried all night at that time because she felt afraid and sympathize her mother. When she woke up the next morning, her mother decided to file an annulment paper. Matagal na pala nitong kinikimkim ang galit. Her mother endured everything for her sake hanggang sa di na nito nakanayan ang sitwasyon nito at yun na nga nangyari. And the rest is history.

She was broken at that time. Buti nalang andyan si Liz at sinamahan siya. Kung wala ito baka nabaliw na siya at na depressed. Who could have thought that it will end just like that? She sighed and closed her eyes until she fall asleep.

Pero wala pa man ang kalahating oras ng maalimpungatan siya dahil batid niyang may nagmamasid sa kanya. Pagmulat pa lang niya ay nagulat na lang siya sa nakatunghay na lalaki sa harapan niya at nakatambad ang pares na mga mata na kulay itim. Ang dilim nito na kasingkulay ng gabi wari'y nagbabadyang may panganib na paparating. Nakakakaba at animo'y hinahatak siya nito pailalim upang magkasala.
