Chapter 2

Chapter 2- Outside the Walls

We set off out the main gate, and started moving around the walls of the kingdom. We all had out our iron swords, in case of any random attack. "So, for starters. As you can see, we just walk all the way around the walls, checking for any spare mobs that spawn, including any creepers or spiders. And occasionally a squid spy." They all shuddered at the squids name. "I know, disgusting right? Let's get this over with so you guys can go on with your other tasks today."

We kept going around the walls, killing the occasional, and miraculously none blew up at us. They were pretty good PVPers. We stopped at the sound of restless bushes. "Probably just a creeper,"  Grayson muttered. The creature came out at us, and it was just a creeper. Erika gasped in surprise before we killed it quickly. "Wh.. What was wrong with that creeper?" Erika gulped. "What?" I asked without looking back at her. "That creeper.... I swear I saw something black like... like obsidian!"

We all looked at her like she was crazy. "Your just imagining things" Cole put in, but I did sense a quiver in his voice. "Theres no such thing as a creeper made of obsidian, silly!" Aria added, bouncing around Grayson. Grayson sighed. "Let's finish this up, were almost done." Erika still looked sure of herself.

Seto's POV

I taught the science class too apprentices, and some officials, who are like high schooler's. Today we were learning about species of bugs, and they had to pair up and go out to the garden and collect bug species. The class sat down as the bell rang. "Hello class! Today we will be going out to the garden to do our bug lab! Everyone grab their partner and head outside with your trays!" They hustled out the door, consulting each other to recall their instructions again, like most students do. I followed them from behind, spectating them from a distance and checking up on everyone to see if they were doing well. All students seemed to be doing well, and working together. I strolled around until a student called me over. "Mr.Sorcerer! We found something weird!" I walked up to them and bent over to examine what they found. What I saw completely baffled me.

It was a black beetle, the color of obsidian. It's coloring looked as if it were literally carved out of obsidian. It was glossy, and had little antennas with tiny obsidian orbs attached. It didn't move at all, just sat and stared at us, waiting to strike. "What..." I stood dumbfounded. "I've never seen this before!" I finally exclaimed. "We must learn about this! It could be a new species!" I would never waste a moment to catch a student's interest in science, even if it's not a new species of beetle. "Let's get a picture!" one of the students suggested. The beetle slowly moved it large body to face the boy as he got his camera out. He raised the camera to his eye, and without warning, the bug flung itself onto the lens of the camera! The boy cried out and fell backwards on his back. The beetle was back on the ground where it was before. "What the... how?.."

"Aw man, my camera!" the boy whined. "What's wrong with it?" his partner asked. "The beetle jumped at it and now the lens is broken!"

The kid was right. The lens of his camera was shattered. "My parents paid so much for it! I'm in bad trouble."

"This bug is... odd. Get it to the classroom, and be careful. If it strikes out again, smash it for safety. But for now, let's keep this a secret between us, okay?" They nodded, eyes shining at being told to keep a secret.
