Chapter 9- What's happening?

Sky's POV

"Scout Troop, what happened? Did you see Acacia and Corbin anywhere?"

"No sir. We were just in lunch when someone told us to go to the main building. We didn't catch sight of them anywhere" Erika replied.

Ty nodded okay. "What now?" Seto pointed out. "Well first of all, we need to save as many people as we can from these things-"

"Enderfected" Grayson suddenly interrupted, his voice low and hateful. "Think about it. They were infected by the Ender. Enderfected."

"Then that's what they are," Ty agreed.

"So, were not that far from  the main building. We'll check every classroom for any students, teachers, or citizens. Everyone be on guard. We'll have Ty, Erika, and Grayson go to the first three classrooms, then come back. Got it?"

The team of three nodded. Seto found some healing potions from the drawer and gave them three each. Before they left, I grabbed Ty's arm and pulled him back. I stared into his eyes with desperation. "Please be safe..." I choked. He gave me an assured smile and blushed. "I will."(fangIRL MOMENT)

Ty's POV (Psh obvious)

I peeked out the door with the two others right behind me. I looked left to right, and saw nothing. Looking back to my group, I nodded and stepped cautiously outside. There was still power, but I'm guessing it won't last long. Together, we quietly and carefully stepped down the hall to the next room. We heard mini shrieks and moaning from other Enderfected. By reaching the first door I said, "Erika, you go into the classroom, while Grayson and I take watch." She nodded and got in front of me to open the door. She looked around one last time before opening the door, turning the doorknob so slowly that you wouldn't even know she was opening a door. She peeked her head in, and about 10 seconds later started to slowly walk into the room. "Hello?" she whisper-yelled. No answer.

I barely heard her take a couple more steps in. "Hellooo?" she whispered again, quieter.

Then she made her way back out, and closed the door. "Nothing" she reported. Grayson and I nodded, slightly disappointed.

We tiptoed to the next door, and this time Grayson went inside while Erika and I kept watch. This time we heard crying. "Hello? This is a recruit here to help." The crying stopped.

"Please come out."

There was the sound of feet on pavement and movement in the shadows of the classroom. A girl came out, younger than all of us. She had black hair and a white night gown on. "M-My mommy.." she sobbed. Grayson's expression showed understanding and sadness, and he opened his arms, to where she ran up to him barefoot, and he swallowed her in a hug. She cried loudly into his shoulder, her sobs rattled her shoulders. "I'm sorry..." he whispered.

Grayson led the girl out of the room as quietly as he could. "What's your name, little miss?" I whispered.

"M-My name I-is.. Yana."

"Well, Yana. You're going to be okay now. None of those monsters will hurt you like they did your mother."

Tears pricked at her eyes again and her lip quivered. "Your not helping" Erika muttered, almost quoting me.

"Erika. I need you to bring her back to Sky and the others. Okay?" Her eyes widened as I lead Yana too her  but she nodded. "A-alone?" she asked. "If you're in trouble, run right back here."

"Okay."
